Twenty six-year-old Charity Shava, a Zvishavane-based pharmacist working for Joy Pharmacy, is a fine product of the University of Zimbabwe (UZ).
Shava says she has always wanted to be a pharmacist from the time she was doing her ‘O’ Levels at Dadaya Secondary School. She says girls can work hard and break the social myths such as the conviction that sciences are for boys.
Shava sees her future in cancer research which she says will enable her to assist in the formulation of new medicinal drugs.
A woman from a humble Christian family background, Shava has some words of advice for young woman in tertiary institutions.
“University life is an achievement path that comes with its own challenges therefore one needs to remain focused in order to complete her programme of choice pride and dignity.”
