GUTU – There was joy last week after more than 10 000 people in Gutu last week received free medication from the Jewish Voice Ministries International at Gutu Hospital.
Leading the 114 member delegation comprising of medical doctors, nurses, religious leaders and journalists; the organisation’s Melisa Johnson said they were determined to give much more medical assistance to rural communities.
“Our member delegation consists of 46 international staff, 56 local staff medical practitioners from the Jewish Church and 15 supporting staff which includes nurses and journalists.
With a hardworking and determined team, we have managed to treat over 10 000 people as permitted by our budget. The outreach has proved life-changing basing on testimonies we received from last year’s exercise so we will continue with the charity work,” Johnson said.
The Jewish Voice Ministries International group was also able to baptise people who were willing to join the Jewish Church.
One of the convents at Chinyika told the news crew that most of the people who live in Chinyika village are Varemba people and 70% of Varemba people’s DNA is of Jewish ancestry.
