Mwenezi – A 15-year old Mwenezi school drop-out from Chibaya village under Chief Chitanga in Mwenezi was arrested Wednesday for murdering another 15-year old Masogwe Secondary School pupil following an altercation over a girlfriend.
The accused appeared in court before Mwenezi Magistrate Melody Rwizi facing murder charges.
The magistrate remanded him out of custody to August 3 pending trial since he is a minor.
It is the State’s case as presented by prosecutor Believe Sadoki that on July 18, met the now deceased Tichaona Mavamba, a form three pupil at Masogwe Secondary School who was coming from School.
Mavamba was in the company of one school girl whom the accused was also interested in.
A heated argument ensued between the two boys over the girl resulting and the accused produced a knife and stabbed Mavamba on the neck twice leading and he died on the spot.
A police report was filed leading to the accused’s arrest.
