Masvingo Zim PF youths are crying foul accusing their former accomplices; Zanu PF for disturbing their mobilization meetings ahead of the much anticipated former vice president and Zim PF leader, Joyce Mujuru rally’s this weekend at Mucheke Stadium.
Speaking to TellZim News, Zim PF Provincial Youth Chairperson, Oliver Huruva, confirmed that they are facing several challenges in mobilizing for the Masvingo rally.
“When our youths are pasting posters, Zanu PF sent agents are following behind tearing up the posters. They are being humiliated all the way but as the youth leadership, we have advised our youths not to retaliate take action but to report to the police.
Transporters have been threatened and advised not to ferry our supporters to the venue. All those we have approached have simply told us that they have been instructed not to take our money. We have since informed our leadership of these challenges and they are strategizing the way forward,” Huruva said.
Provincial youth executive member, Kudakwashe Gopo, added that they had a hectic time trying to meet up with their grass roots structures in Gutu as thorns were thrown in their way blocking their vehicles. He said villagers were told not to attend the strategic meetings.
“We found thorns thrown along the roads on several occasions. We were later advised by locals that local Zanu PF youths were moving around discouraging villagers from attending our mobilization meetings. We, however, managed to meet several fearless villagers who pledged to rally behind Zim PF amid circulating threats form Zanu PF members,” Gopo said.
Admire Wakurawarerwa echoed the same sentiments saying, “We see disturbances looming ahead, especially after Zanu PF did the same ahead of the first Zim PF rally held in Bulawayo. What we are sure of, however, is threats will not get in the ballot box this time around. Stage managing numbers at their rallies will not give them votes because Zimbabweans have had enough this time around.” news
