The big Eastern Region Division One battleground

MASVINGO – Sixteen Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) Eastern Region Division One teams are set to battle for the Premier Soccer League (PSL) promotion which is set to begin on April 21, after a delay on registration of some of the teams, TellZim News has learnt.
Zifa Eastern Division One manager, Thadeous Machawira confirmed that 12 teams had already paid and by the start of the season, all 16 teams would have registered for the lower league.
He also said that some teams had attracted new coaches, with others getting new foreign players.
“We are expecting a great season as the players and coaches have been engaged in serious preparations and we call upon all players not to be involved in violence and to respect the referee’s decisions,” said Machawira.
Masvingo Pirates FC, Masvingo United FC, Buffaloes FC, Mbada Diamond FC, Black Eagles, Redwing, Africa Trust FC, Bikita Minerals FC, United Lions FC, Mwenezana FC, Renco Mine FC, Surrey FC, Prime Rangers FC, Hartley Academy FC, Tenax FC and 011 Stars of Chatsworth make up the list of teams that have expressed interest in taking part in the Zifa Eastern Region Division 1 2018 season.
There are few exciting games at the beginning of the season with Masvingo United FC, popularly known as Una Una, scheduled to play against United Lions FC at Mucheke Stadium, Bikita Minerals against Renco in Bikita and Tenax FC against Masvingo Pirates FC in Rusape.sport
