09 March 2017, MASVINGO – Masvingo Central Police District have defended their trophy as champions at the Masvingo Provincial Propol Games held last week Saturday at ZRP Zimuto grounds.
The district was crowned overall champions of the games after they collected more medals and trophies than other participants.
The games were held to build one team that will represent Masvingo province at the Commissioner General of Police Sports Gala to be held in Harare in April.
Officer Commanding Masvingo Province, Senior Assistant Commissioner Martha Mofolo, who was guest of honour at the event, encouraged athletes to keep working harder in preparation of the gala.
“One of the most important reasons why ZRP embraced sport is that it positively correlates with good leadership traits. The adoption of a team mind-set gives birth to strong leadership qualities.
“I am also convinced that the provincial selection team will have an opportunity to choose the best team and we look forward to better results. I urge all those who will represent the province to put spirited effort and raise our flag onto the sporting map,” she said
