Maboke will never be our mayor – MDC Alliance

Collen Maboke

The MDC Alliance says nothing has changed with regards to its decision to force controversially-elected new City of Masvingo mayor, Collen Maboke to step down and pave way for fresh elections.
Maboke was ordered to step down to pave the way for Ward 5 councillor, Daniel Mberikunashe, to take over.
MDC Alliance local governance secretary, Sessel Zvidzai told TellZim News the party stood by its decision and was waiting for Maboke’s resignation letter.
“Nothing has changed so the decision of the party remains. Party processes found that Maboke is not the best candidate for the position. I am waiting for his resignation right now. Let me check to see if what I have just received in my mail box is not his resignation letter,” said Zvidzai.
Maboke has previously refused to talk about the issue to the press but indications have been that he did not want to go without a fight.
It is alleged that Maboke has the backing of MDC Alliance provincial chairperson James Gumbi who is urging him to hold on.
When contacted for comment, Gumbi also refused to comment on the matter saying was in hospital and could not talk to anyone.
“I am in hospital and am not able to speak to you,” said Gumbi before hanging up.
There has been a lot of messages doing rounds on social media claiming Maboke had been let off the hook.
“Maboke is not going down without a fight; he will stand up and drag Chamisa to court. But before it comes to that, his people have launched a social media campaign sending confusing messages to try and portray Chamisa as a dictator.
“Some provincial executive members including the chairperson are telling him not to step down and are helping him to organise people to protest over the decision,” said a source.
Maboke found himself in the middle of a storm after he defied a party directive that it was Ward 4 councillor, Godfrey Kurauone and his Ward 1 counterpart, Selina Maridza who were to be nominated and elected as mayor and deputy mayor respectively.
Maboke, however, teamed up with three Zanu PF councillors and other three MDC Alliance councillors to get himself nominated and elected to the mayor’s post, while ceding the deputy mayorship to Zanu PF Ward 6 councillor, Wellington Mahwende.
Zanu PF has endorsed Maboke saying he had seen the light and should take the same light to Chamisa.
At his welcome celebrations on Monday, newly-appointed Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Zanu PF Masvingo West MP, Ezra Chadzamira heaped praises on Maboke.local

Zanu PF too arrogant, too coward

Can someone tell us how the cholera situation in Zimbabwe is? Mapombi is being told the situation is not that good, though our leaders are trying to water it down. Hama dzangu ngatingwarirei hutano hwedu vanhu Havana hanya nesu ava – all along they knew there are serious water crisis in Harare and burst sewer everywhere but they never made their voices heard but now kwava necholera they pretend to care. We know they hardly care – havanei nesu vanhu ava mhani.
Anyway, Mapombi would like to urge fellow Zimbabweans to at least boil their water before drinking or use for domestic chores if the water sources are not safe. It is also important to practice high levels of hygiene – chokwadi mungakundwawo neni Mapombi handisi kukanga maputi these days ndiri kuita ekutenga because the situation at Chitima market is deplorable to say the least. I even suspended bathing from Mucheke River till further notice because ndingangoita cholera kkkkkkk. My vice president Chiwenga will say Korera kkkkkkk.
But Kedha is not feeling well guys; did you see his hands? Apa ari kuita kuzvimba face like; get well soon Kedha handika.
Mapombi is thinking dai Kedha zvaanoita zvekutsamwa zviya and making unreasonable decisions dai aingozviita to some government officials who are corrupt especially ministers wotongonzwa ava kuti all corrupt ministers are fired with immediate effect kkkkkkkk.
Gumbo you are fired for allowing Supa to buy snow graders and twundege twusina mature twuya kkkkk that could be more interesting. Mapombi is very sure Kedha has the potential to be like Magufuli of Tanzania but he only directs his efforts and energy to harmless people. We want all corrupt ministers to go Cde Kedha.
And how is minister SB Moyo doing? I heard he is recovering well kumaAvenues ikoko; get well soon SB; Zanu PF still needs people like you.
By the way, have you noticed that Zanu is full of people who are greedy, arrogant and selfish? The party is full of cowards. All they want is to remain in power and they don’t care about the welfare of the marginalized people.
People are struggling and many are dying because of the harsh economic conditions in the country. Cholera and typhoid are killing innocent souls because Zanu PF has failed to provide the minimum hygienic standards for people living in urban areas since 1980.
They cannot supply clean and safe water in Harare; and they always blame the opposition each time there is cholera outbreak. We witnessed people dying in 2008 soon after elections because of cholera and the same thing is happening this year. As long as ED and comrades are in power they say all is well but the truth is nothing is well in the country.
There is critical cash shortage and forex shortage – in fact hakuna foreign currency to talk about in Zimbabwe. They know ordinary people are facing difficult times; civil servants are struggling to live a decent life but they don’t care.
They know the solution to all these problems is negotiating with the opposition parties – not to form an inclusive government but just kungoonesana kuti zvinhu zvingafambiswa sei for the betterment of the ordinary citizens. Zanu PF should swallow its arrogance and accept reality that not any reasonable person out there will have confidence in them to an extent of coming to invest billions here.
Maybe the Chinese; they have signed mega deals during uncle Bob’s era and they signed multi-million deals with ED asi chakabuda hapana. They pretend to be blind to this new colonization of Africa by the Chinese – it is far much better to be colonized by Britain because at least they develop infrastructure and not these pint-sized conmrades vanongozvarisa vanin’ina nasisi vangu for nothing.
ED should show that he is indeed a leader; leaders do not have egos – in fact they can swallow their egos and do things that benefit the whole nation. It may appear as if ashorwa to reach out to Chamisa but the people of Zimbabwe will respect him for that. We don’t want propaganda dzeDead BC dziye dzekungoti ED reaches out to Chamisa when in actual fact nothing of that sought would have happened.
The situation needs our leaders ED and Chamisa to complement each other. Chamisa might have lost the election or Malaba might have just decided to pronounce ED as winner but we all know that the young man has more than two million supporters who voted for him and the majority of them controlsthe economy, while the majority of ED’s supporters control farms in rural areas.
We want dialogue between the two; and no any other person should be involved even vana Kedha  ngavatinyararire kuti zii zvavo. But like I said Zanu is too arrogant ipapa they think they will improve the economy muchavaona vanenge vachingoita nharo and soon Dead BC will start running stories blaming MDC Alliance for economic collapse – they will start saying sanctions blah blah.
Anyway, let me go ndindotenga zvangu maputi angu for lunch ndizvidyire; nhaka neKorera iyi tinopona here isu. At least im boiling my water to drink though ndichishandisa zvangu moto wemapepa.  Mapombi would like to encourage her brothers and sisters kuti chokwadi ngwarirai tinopera neCholera ivo vachidya nekunwa vachiguta.
They don’t care about us; they only showed a bit of care few months ago when they needed our votes iyezvino chero ukafa havambokendengi ava.
By the way, did anyone hear from Mphoko; mukati Cholera iyoyi hainawo kumuwanikidza? Since he is now unemployed following his unceremonial ouster from the position of VP pamwe zvinhu zvingadaro zvava kumunetsawo veduwe. Plus he is yet to receive his pension ka so hupenyu hwacho pamwe hausi kumufambirawo mushe Mphoko. I just hope he is safe hake. Mboko imboko!. mapombi

Zanu PF threatens retribution against disloyal green bombers

CHIREDZI – Zanu PF has threatened a witch-hunt against youth officers suspected of supporting MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa in the July 30 harmonised elections.
Speaking at a meeting at Chitsanga Hall recently, the ruling party’s Masvingo provincial chairperson, Ezra Chadzamira said there were youth officers who fell for Chamisa’s general consensus mantra thereby prejudicing President Emmerson Mnangagwa of a convincing win in the presidential election.
Chamisa premised his campaign on a pledge to give the youth more opportunities in the decision-making processes of the country but Mnangagwa still won with a disputed razor-thin margin.
It is this thin victory that has peeved many in Zanu PF, with Chadzamira, who has now been appointed Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs, threatening stern action against some youth officers whom he claimed almost costed Mnangagwa the presidency.
Chadzamira indicated that youth officers owed Zanu PF a favour, saying their positions in government were created by Zanu PF against strong resistance from the very same opposition which the youth officers were now showing a soft spot for.
“I have invited youth officers here but unfortunately nobody came. Their jobs were created by Zanu PF for their benefit as we once disputed with MDC over freezing those posts. But interestingly, most of you today are in the forefront of de-campaigning Zanu PF while popularising the opposition,” said Chadzamira.
He promised to do a review on how youth officers operated during the harmonised elections and freeze jobs for all those who campaigned for the opposition.
“We will get back to the grassroots, making some enquiries on how you were working during the election period and if you were involved in opposition issues, then it’s over for you,” Chadzamira said.local

NBSZ face Blood type O shortages

GWERU – The National Blood Services Zimbabwe (NBSZ) Gweru depot is facing serious blood shortages especially of the blood type O due to increased demand which cannot be matched by current donation levels.
NBSZ planning and recruitment officer, Aggrey Ngazana revealed the organisation’s strategic plan involved resolving the shortages which started soon after this year’s Heroes holidays.
“During our Heroes holidays, we had enough stocks of blood for all blood groups but soon after the holidays, we experienced a sharp decline in blood Group O stocks.
“Right now, we have enough stocks for blood groups A, B, and AB but the problem is group O which needs to be made available for emergency cases. The shortages were so severe that blood type O was made available to hospitals only when they had patients in need of it,” he said.
Gweru NBSZ`s strategic plan involve collecting blood from towns and schools in Gweru including at Midlands State University (MSU).
“We will be doing collections at schools to try and cover up for the shortages because school goers account for 75 percent of our donors.
“We have already scheduled dates for collections and after that, we are going to have a men`s splash at our show grounds offices. It is an event where we will appeal to all our male donors to come and give blood on that day,” said Ngazana.
Blood Groop O is the most sought after because it can be used on patients of any other blood group type.
With effect from July 1, 2018 blood became free in all government and mission hospitals following President Emerson Mnangagwa’s directive to scrap blood fees from US$120 per pint.local

Losing MP candidate forges signature, swindles GZU of US$4 000

Michael Taderera

Losing National Patriotic Front (NPF) Masvingo Urban parliamentary candidate in the July 30 harmonised election, Michael Taderera, stands implicated in a serious fraud case at Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) after he allegedly forged a signature and defrauded the institution of US$4 000 last semester, TellZim News can reveal.
Taderera who is the GZU Student Executive Council (Sec) vice president, is said to have conspired with treasurer’s Ruzivo Shumbamhini and Tasangana Muwani to forge the Sec presidents’ signature and withdraw money from the student body’s charity fund.
Information at hand says the trio went on to write fake minutes of a caucus meeting which they conducted and submitted names of people whom they supposed were to have their fees paid by the fund.
The money was, however, allegedly channeled towards the trio’s own fees and three other people said to be their girlfriends.
When conducted for comment, GZU Sec president, Davis Mutazu confirmed the issue saying the incident happened while he was out of the country.
He said he was in possession of the alleged fake minutes which were submitted to the school.
“I can confirm that Taderera and the treasurer’s conspired to forge my signature while I was in Botswana on school business. They got more than $4000 and paid their school fees and I now have the minutes which they submitted to the school,” said Mutazu.
When contacted, Taderera was hostile although he confirmed that Mutazu’s name had miraculously appeared on the minutes.
“Nothing like that happened. We didn’t forge his signature, his complaint is that his name appeared on the minutes when he didn’t attend the meeting,” said Taderera.
Further asked why they had put Mutazu’s name on the sheet, Taderera declined to comment saying he did not want to talk about the issue since he didn’t know the reporter.
“I don’t want to discuss such serious issues over the phone because I don’t know you. If you want the details, then you have to come and meet me,” said Taderera.
GZU Sec secretary general, Blessed Chuma said he could not comment much on the issue since it was still being investigated.
“I cannot comment at the moment because the issue is still under investigation. We will let you know after the investigations are over,” said Chuma.
When contacted for comment on Thursday, GZU Director Information and Public Relations, Anderson Chipatiso, said he had not yet heard about the case. He promised to come back after finding out but had not done so by the time of going to print.top news

Musiso matron joins Chibi Govt Hospital after fallout with Catholics

Brighton Chiseva

ZAKA – Former Catholic-run Musiso Mission Hospital matron, Modester Mutombwa who had been on three months forced leave, has now been transferred to Chibi Government Hospital following irreconcilable differences with the church.
Masvingo Provincial Medical Doctor (PMD) Dr Amadeus Shamu confirmed the development but said there was nothing amiss about her being at Chibi although TellZim News is reliably informed that she was transferred because of serious differences with the new Musiso Mission priest-in-charge, Father Fidelis Dakwa.
“She is now at Chibi Government Hospital. There is nothing amiss on the development because we used to have catholic nuns at such places as Masvingo Provincial Hospital. They are free to go to whichever clinic or hospital they choose,” said Shamu.
On the part of her being on forced leave, Shamu said Mutombwa herself was the best person to answer the question as he only knew that she was now at Chibi.
Efforts to get a comment from Mutombwa were fruitless as her phone was not reachable by the time of going to print.
Sources, however, said Mutombwa was sent on three months forced leave by the responsible authorities after a fallout between her and Fr Dakwa over the hospital car.
The sources said the church had allowed Musiso High to use the hospital’s car since the school’s own was down, but Mutombwa would have none of it.
Others said earlier on, Mutombwa had had a fallout with trainee doctors who then reported her to the responsible authorities.
Those allegations were however disputed by the vicar general, Fr Walter Nyatsanza who said she had just taken normal leave days.
Other sources at the mission said the priest-in-charge was exercising administrative overreach by usurping all the powers of those below him, and was a control freak.
They said many people at the mission were hardly coping with his leadership style, saying former high school head Immaculate Tinago could not take it anymore hence her move to Edrrovale College earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Sr Dorothy Makuvise, who used to be stationed at Matibi Mission has been appointed acting matron at Musiso Mission.local

Chiredzi Stars FC

Anesushe Mamhute

Zifa Eastern Region Division 2 side, Chiredzi Stars FC recently romped to an emphatic 5-0 victory over Young Stars last week as they edged closer to promotion into the division 1 league.
Stars have accumulated 20 points so far and are gallantly shaking off a strong challenge from second-placed Eland FC who will play other top contenders, Koala FC this Saturday.
Chiredzi Stars FC, who are being sponsored by South Africa-based philanthropist Patrick Madzima, have only four games remaining and they are optimistic about qualifying into the division 1 battlefield.
The team’s administration is empowering the youth by recruiting less-privileged but talented high school children into the club. They also cater for the young players’ school fees while some of them are given life-time opportunities to get driver’s licences and passports.
The team’s administrator, Taurai Dzoro said they were working hard to qualify for promotion to division 1 next season so that they can go to the next stage of developing new soccer talent in Chiredzi.
“As for now, we are focusing on winning the league then go for playoffs to qualify for division 1. Basically, we are physically and mentally conditioning the players for the tough assignments that lie ahead. Professionalism is our catch phrase from the administration and technical team right down to the players,” Dzoro said.
The club has a professional setup with one of Chiredzi’s yesteryear stars, Tawanda ‘Ngolozi’ Chibaira as the secretary general and Kuda Machera as technical director.
Club captain, Victor Machote, who plays goalie, is one of the consistent players but the club is also scouting for seasoned players to beef up the team.
Chiredzi Stars are hoping that someday, they will follow in the footsteps of Triangle FC who have held their fort in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL).sport

UN-affiliated Korean peace NGO hosts global leaders

….2018 HWPL Peace Summit is held to discuss comprehensive development of peace-building through institutionalization and inter-Korean reconciliation
In order to discuss the ideas and implementation required to achieve peace, a peace summit under the theme of “Collaboration for Peace Development: Building a Peace Community through the DPCW” will be held in Incheon, South Korea from 17th to 19th on September. An international peace NGO named HWPL under the UN ECOSOC and UN DPI invites about 2000 social representatives from the fields of politics, religion, law, education, youth, women, press, and civil societies to “2018 HWPL World Peace Summit” that marks its 4th anniversary.
The host organization, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light(HWPL) has advocated the participation of international organizations, governments, and civil societies in achieving peace through “Establishing Collaborative Governance for Development and Implementation of the DPCW”. Based on the idea of collaborative governance, this year’s summit aims to further seek for the driving force for the enactment of the international law for peace through an all-encompassing approach involving different areas of expertise.
Participants will discuss the following agenda: 1) National and regional support for developing the DPCW into a legally binding form, 2) Future direction of the interfaith dialogue meeting to find a trustworthy religious scripture, 3) Role of educators in peace education to spread a culture of peace, 4) Practical action plans for peace-related projects led by women and youth 5) Peace network platform for journalists.
HWPL, ever since 2014, has hosted the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace(WARP) Summits with the slogan of “everyone to become messengers of peace” to discuss the realizable methods for world peace in association with the leaders from each sector of the global society. As a result of such collaborative efforts, in 2016, HWPL and world-level international law experts proclaimed the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW) that can prevent any armed conflict at its core.
The DPCW of 10 articles and 38 clauses addresses the role of states and civic participation for peace-building through developing friendly relations between nations, prohibiting the use of the forces, fostering religious freedom, and spreading a culture of peace.
Emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts, Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL delivers his message to the people he has met by saying “If there is an answer to peace, every family of the global village born in this era should become a messenger of peace. It is our responsibility to put an end to war and make sustainable peace a legacy for future generations.”
HWPL announces that this year’s summit proceeds high-level meetings for the former and current heads of state and women leaders including the first ladies to advocate the support for the DPCW at the national level backed by the national solidarity statement for the DPCW from eSwatini and Seychelles as well as the agreement of the president of Pan-African Parliament (PAP) on the implementation of peace-related institutions and projects based on the principles of the DPCW throughout Africa.
