Mapombi is known for telling the truth. Many of my avid readers love and like me because I stand for nothing but the truth. Ndinoreva zvokwadi inorwadza senge mudzimu wabuda pambeveve. Vazhinji vanonditi mafirakureva.
I will not hesitate to tell you kuti vana ED nyika mukaita zvekutamba nayo mava kutoiuraya iyi – if not careful you will destroy this country exactly in the same manner Uncle Bob did. Elections come and go but we will remain forever as Zimbabweans – we have more that bind us together than that separates us. Yes, we belong to different political parties but at the end of it all, we are all Zimbabweans. Why shoot each other? Why killing each other?
Mapombi was baffled by Zanu PF and its leadership; how can they take us for granted like that? Honestly to have the guts to tell the whole nation that soldiers never killed anyone hamuonewo kuti kutiita mafuza here? Some of us vanaMapombi tinogara kuChitima market uko takapfeka mamvemve tinoonekwa zvedu sevapengo tobva tanyeperwa but we are not stupid at all.
We know what happened so don’t tell us that those people killed during opposition demonstration were killed by civilians – no civilians clad in those camouflages. We want leaders with a human face – kana madyiwa moti tadyiwa kana maurayisawo vanhu moti sorry.
Yes, if you sent soldiers to kill civilians please accept and apologise than coming up with such silly stories – we are not fools. Innocent souls were killed, why, why? We know that power is sweet but not to the extent that makes you kill innocent people in order to retain power.
I may agree with Zanu PF that Chamisa lost the elections musi wa30 July, not because he was not popular but because of vote buying and intimidation by Zanu PF. Kkkkkkk I know people are angry in towns and they don’t want to hear anything suggesting that Chamisa akadyiwa. Mapombi passed through one of her favourites spots in town umwe murume achida kurohwa nevanhu because he had said Chamisa lost the election.
Kkkkkkk vanhu vakatsamwa hama dzangu.
But what about this; since Chamisa won in all urban areas, he should be given powers to run the affairs of people in urban areas while his counterpart ED, who won resoundingly in Uzumba ongotongawo ikoko. Munopaonawo sei? ED achitonga kuruzevha Chamisa achitungamirawo vanogara mumadhorobha. Pakadii apo?
Guys Kedha uchatipaprira varume. Mapombi is failing to understand this guy akonzeresa zvinotobhowa. Mapombi heard he is the one behind all these killings and intimidation of opposition supporters. But why Kedha?
Mapombi thinks it is high time Zanu PF called Cde Chiwenga to complete order. I have great respect for Chiwenga but I would want to believe he is too emotional. When one becomes highly emotional, reasoning is suspended in most cases and that helps us to understand such kind of madness as the firing of nurses and the killing of civilians by the army.
We heard Chiwenga once recommended the firing of the top 30 police bosses gore riye when ED was away only for ED to come back and reverse the dismissals. Why should one be unreasonably emotional? He has a lot of potential to be a good leader but he first needs political orientation so that mweya wekuma barrack umbobuda. Yamuri kuita iyo haisiriyo servant leadership Cde Chiwenga!
Mapombi foresees disaster in Zanu PF pamberi apo if something is not done as a matter of urgency. Some people must go kkkkkkk ndine urombo namukoma wangu Chris Mutsvangwa kkkkkk you are an unelectable politician my guy. Hamudiwe Cde, accept it. Accept that you are not special in any way; or should I say the people of Norton do not see you as somebody special. Themba Mliswa is more special to the people of Norton that the President’s Special Advisor.
But I always wonder what kind of advice a person who failed to win a constituency would give to the President who runs the whole country? Kkkkkkk I think the special advisor needs a very special advisor who can tell him kuti zvakakwana baba zvamakaita, it’s time to pack the bags and go. You are not special mukoma Chris.
Mapombi heard there are reports that MDC Alliance polling agents are being forced to sign new V11 forms by suspected security agents so that the new figures can tally with those that were announced by Zec. I also heard that some candidates are also being intimidated – this is the Zanu PF I really know. I often tell people around me kwedu kuChitima market uko kuti Zanu PF yakafanana nenyoka kana imbwa ikangovhiringidzwa zvishomashoma inoruma.
They called for peaceful elections and we all celebrated but makazoona zvavakaita after elections; they killed innocent souls. I think Mutsvangwa and Chiwenga combination is deadly kkkkkkkk kunofiwa gwendo gwuno.
Anyway, it’s almost lunch time let me go ndindokanga zvangu maputi angu for lunch. At least these days kwava kupisa chero nesu vana Mapombi kupfeka zvedu mamvemve asi tombaigezavo. Before I go, I want to salute Uncle Bob for voting for Chamisa. Wakagona mudhara. By the way, madam Khupe accepted defeat and congratulated ED for winning. But hanzi she has issues with Zec because at the polling station she and her family voted, she got zero kkkkkkkkk. Mapombi suspects they all voted for Chamisa ini, Zec yakangoverenga zvaivapo kkkkkk.
I never thought some leaders would lose confidence to the extent of not voting for oneself. Anyway, let me leave that for another day. How is Mphoko nhai veduwe; Mapombni would like to hear what’s his take on these elections. Mboko imboko!local
Call Chiwenga to order, please!
MDC Alliance strengthens hold on Zvishavane council

Darlington Kanyongo
ZVISHAVANE – The MDC Alliance has increased its number of seats in the Zvishavane Town Council after garnering seven out of 10 wards in last week’s harmonised elections.
The opposition MDC-T had six councillors in the previous council.
The new councillors are Takarangana Keta (Ward 1), Patson Taruvinga (Ward 2); Fatima Phiri (Ward 3); Charity Majama (Ward 4); Itai Pasira (Ward 8); Khulekani Ndlovu (Ward 9) and Andria Banda (Ward 10).
The ruling Zanu PF was successful in the rest of the wards; Jose Ferreira (Ward 6); Mike Jaravaza (Ward 7) and Tinashe Mago (Ward 5).
The previous council was often affected by gross interference by former Local Government minister, Saviour Kasukuwere who once suspended town chairperson, Esau Gwatipedza Dube.
Kasukuwere’s overbearing influence in the affairs of the council, especially targeting MDC-T councillors, is partly blamed for the extremely poor service delivery in the town.local
200 votes carry day for Chimina in Chiwundura
Livingstone Chimina
Tiyani Hahlani
GWERU – MDC Alliance’s winning parliamentary candidate for Chiwundura, Livingstone Chimina is a lucky man after he snatched the constituency from Zanu PF’s Brown Ndlovu by 217 votes.
Chimina won the seat with 14 895 votes against Ndlovu’s 14 678, one of the slightest margins to be recorded in the elections.
Being a rural constituency, Chiwundura had been regarded as a Zanu PF stronghold, with Chinama getting into the race as an underdog.
He, however, pulled a surprise by defeating Ndlovu who had been MP for the area since a by-election held in July 2017 following the death of Kizito Chivamba who had been MP since 2013.
“I would like to give thanks to the MDC Alliance for giving me this opportunity to represent the people of Chiwundura. I promise to represent their interest in the National House of Assembly.
“I promise to represent the interests of the constituency and will do so in a non-partisan manner. I will provide servant leadership in order to bring development to the constituency,” said Chimina.
He said he won despite the odds being heavily stacked against him, with Zanu pF allegedly indulging in flagrant vote-buying.
“The elections were neither free nor fair. There was massive vote-buying through the distribution of farming inputs and massive intimidation in resettlement areas by the Zanu PF candidate and his supporters,” said Chimina.
Other candidates that contested in Chiwundura are Blessing Murondiwa (independent) 3 153 votes, Thulisile Guyo (People Rainbow Coalition, PRC) 443 votes, Ronica Tekede (Zimbabwe Partnership of Prosperity, Zipp) 319 votes, Michael Monde (Build Zimbabwe Alliance, BZA) 222 votes and Wilbert Vika (Alliance for People’s Agenda, Apa) 79 votes.local
MDC Alliance polling agents sleep in bush
…as attempts to force them to sign new V11 forms escalate
Upenyu Chaota
MASVINGO – The war for V11 forms is raging in the province with some MDC Alliance polling agents in the recent elections said to be deserting their homes and seeking refuge in the mountains to escape suspected Zanu PF agents that are going around forcing them to sign doctored V11 forms.
The figures on the new V11 forms have reportedly been designed in such a way that they tally with the election results announced by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec).
MDC Alliance presidential candidate, Nelson Chamisa lost the election to Zanu PF’s Emmerson Mnangagwa but has challenged the outcome, alleging that Zec announced fake results to benefit Mnangagwa.
Chamisa has since launched a court challenge after gathering V11 forms reportedly from all polling stations across the country which supposedly prove that Zanu PF and Zec rigged the elections.
MDC Alliance Masvingo provincial chairperson James Gumbi said their polling agents across the province were being hunted and being forced to sign new V11 forms.
“It is not well at all in the province. Our polling agents are being harassed by Zanu PF militias that are going to their homes. They want our people to sign V11 forms that have doctored figures so that they will get away with rigging. We will not let that happen; our people are no longer sleeping at home.
“Zanu PF fears being humiliated at the courts hence their desperation to look for our agents and force them to append their signatures onto fake results. Our people are now sleeping in the mountains,” said Gumbi.
He said Chamisa defeated President Mnangagwa by a wide margin in Masvingo province and Zec was finding it difficult to account for the figures they announced.
“In Chivi, we filed some police cases but nothing has been done as of yet. In Zaka, our people are sleeping in mountains because they fear for their lives.
“Zec and Zanu PF have stolen the elections but their fake numbers cannot tally. When they realised that president Chamisa indeed had the V11 forms, they panicked and are now hunting down our people. We have the real forms and they will be presented before the courts.
“There was serious rigging in Gutu where president Chamisa comes from and they will not get away with it,” said Gumbi.
Zanu PF national secretary for legal affairs, Paul Mangwana, however, dismissed the allegations, saying every person was entitled to their own ‘wild hallucinations’ but the problem came when they started believing them.
“That is complete nonsense. They are dreaming. Kutonga hakubvi mukurota. V11 forms were signed by all polling agents and we have no reason to go after their polling agents.
“Instead, they want to manufacture their own V11 forms because we won an elections and we are not challenging the results. Hatineyi nema V11 forms isu. They were signed and we have no use for them,” said Mangwana.top news
Mugabe to blame for Harare killings, war vets say
Former President Robert Mugabe
…old man has no place at Heroes’ Acre
Shingirai Vambe
HARARE – Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) national spokesperson, Douglas Mahiya has heaped the blame for the shooting of six demonstrators by soldiers in Harare on August 01 on former president Robert Mugabe.
Mahiya told journalists at a press conference at the Harare international Conference Centre a day after the deadly shootings that the involvement of Mugabe in today’s politics was the cause of the violence.
“Mugabe doesn’t deserve to be laid on the Heroes’ Acre because of his previous and current activities in today’s politics. He has done enough and we as war vets will not allow this madness; he has married himself to Nelson Chamisa and has lost track of cadreship,” Mahiya said.
He said the youth were being used by political parties at the expense of the people’s lives, adding that young people must refused to be used to stoke the flames of a civil war.
Tandiwe Ngulube, who was one of the panellists, echoed Mahiya’s words, saying the continued involvement of Mugabe in politics was saddening and would mark the end of Chamisa’s political career.
“War veterans see the hand of Mugabe hovering in today’s politics and his cunning behaviour in the opposition party is still visible,” she said.
Mugabe organised a press conference on the day before the harmonised elections, where he poured out his bitterness at Zanu PF for removing him from power and ‘expelling me from a party I founded.’
He also made it clear that he was not going to vote for Zanu PF, a party that ‘tormented me’, saying the only choice that remained for him was Chamisa since the other notable opposition leaders like Joice Mujuru and Thokozani Khupe did not offer much.
Chamisa later held his own press conference saying he welcomed every vote, arguing it was not for candidates to choose voters, but for voters to choose candidates.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF party, however, went to town about the developments, saying Chamisa had entered into an unholy alliance with Mugabe and discredited himself in the process.politics
Simrac Chiredzi robbed
…robbers get away with Guardian Security van
Beatific Gumbwanda
CHIREDZI – A gang of armed robbers on Monday escaped with a Guardian Security van and an estimated US$11 000 cash from Simrac wholesale after assaulting security guards and employees at gun point.
By the time of writing, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) was investigating a case of armed robbery which took place at the Simrac shop in Msasa Road.
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Ins Charity Mazula confirmed the incident and urged businesses to bank their money in time.
"We have since launched a manhunt for the suspects and we plead with members of the public who may have any information to come forward and assist the police," said Mazula.
Eye witnesses said the incident happened in the evening, with the gang first visiting an eatery at the back of the shop where they bought some food in the afternoon.
Simrac manager, Evans Mucherahondo said a group of four armed robbers stormed into the shop at around 18:30 hrs and assaulted employees who were cleaning up the floors.
He said the robbers demanded the safe and everybody was ordered to lie face down.
“One of the gunman came into my office and ordered me to hand over the cash box. A security guard who was at the backyard was tied up and we noticed that the whole shop was surrounded. I could not count them but they were many.
“In the confusion, Guardian Security guards arrived and they were quickly met with fire. They were disarmed and tied while lying face down. They went away with the van and I am not at liberty to disclose the amount of money stolen,” said Mucherahondo.local
My seat belongs to MDC Alliance, says independent Cllr
Siyai Neshanje
Brighton Chiseva
RENCO Mine – Masvingo South Ward 35 councillor, Siyai Neshanje, who retained his council seat in the just-ended harmonised elections as an independent, has said he will push the MDC Alliance agenda in council.
Neshanje has been the area’s MDC-T councillor since 2008 but he chose to stand as an independent after being disgruntled by the party’s chaotic primaries that apparently produced a weak candidate, Benson Shuro.
He told TellZim News it was the electorate than persuaded him to stand as an independent as he apparently was the only candidate capable of stopping Zanu PF from snatching the ward.
“I was born and bred in the MDC so I will return the seat home. I contested as independent to defend it from Zanu PF because people felt the candidate that the party had put forward was not capable of retaining the seat for the party. I think the people were justified in their concerns, just as the results of the elections have shown,” said Neshanje.
He called upon the people to work together for the good of the ward, saying his role will be to champion their interests in council.
“I urge all residents of the ward to unite and forget our political differences so that we can all help each other develop our area,” said Neshanje.
Neshanje polled 787 votes ahead of Shuro’s 546 votes and 382 for Zanu PF’s Allen Mushangi.local
‘Zanu PF fielded bogus polling agents’
Clayton Shereni
The opposition MDC-T (Khupe faction)’s losing parliamentary candidate for Gutu North constituency, Admire Wakurawarerwa has said his defeat by Zanu PF’s Yeukai Simbanegavi was a result of a playing field that was heavily tilted against him.
He accused Zanu PF of vote-buying, saying the ruling party fielded unaccredited agents who were brazenly campaigning for their masters on election day.
"At Nharira Primary School, we had a case of a woman who claimed to be a Zanu PF agent yet she failed to produce her accreditation and we reported her to the police. Some voters were intimidated and reminded of the 2008 atrocities which claimed a lot of lives.
Wakurawarerwa also said the ruling party wantonly breached other rules set by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) in accordance with the Electoral Act.
"The whole process was not fair especially in Gutu North where Zanu PF held a road show on a Sunday, just a day before election day yet Zec had ordered that no campaigning should be done on the day," said Wakurawarerwa.
Efforts to get a comment from Masvingo Provincial Elections Officer Zex Pudurai (PEO) were fruitless as he was said to be in Harare on national business.
The electoral process has received wide criticism from many losing opposition candidates who claim Zanu PF went into the elections with an unfair advantage over them.
In its preliminary report, the European Union election observer mission cited the ruling part’s abuse of State resources and the biased State media as factors that negatively impacted on the credibility of the harmonised elections.local
Chiredzi Town Council moots prepaid parking
Beatific Gumbwanda
CHIREDZI – Residents here have welcomed the initiative by the town council to come up with prepaid parking zones in the town centre, a move which will see the authorities raise funds for the rehabilitation of road infrastructure.
The town council has so far finished marking all the parking zones in the Central Business District (CBD) at TV Sales complex, Banc ABC, Edgars complex as well as at Electrosales complex which are the busiest parking zones.
Chiredzi Town Council Secretary, Charles Muchatukwa, said that markings have been completed and the prepaid parking will be functional very soon as sign posting has already been done.
“Prepaid parking in now functional in all gazetted areas. Markings and sign posts have been completed. The money collected will be channelled towards the rehabilitation of our roads and other forms of service delivery,” said Muchatukwa.
He said parking fees ranged from $0.50 (0-30 minutes), $1.00 (30 minutes – 1 hour) and $2 (1-8 hours).
United Chiredzi Residents and Ratepayers Association (UCHIRRA) chairperson, Josphat Tizirayi said his organisation welcomed the idea, adding however that there should be transparency in the administration of the collected revenue.
“The idea of having prepaid parking is very much noble and we welcome it. The only problem we might face is lack of transparency on how the money is used.
“We just hope everything will go according to plan and there will be openness in the use of the funds,” said Tizirayi.local
Zaka farmers struggle to deliver maize to GMB
GMB Jerera depot
Brighton Chiseva
ZAKA – Farmers in the district are struggling to deliver their produce to the Jerera GMB depot amid reports that the management is asking for bribes from them.
Truck drivers and farmers who do not immediately pay bribes are said to be spending three to five days at the depot.
The gate, which is opposite Mushangwe Bottle Store, is reportedly opened only to those who would have paid the required bribes.
When contacted for comment, Jerera depot manager only identified as Shumba said he was not authorised to speak to the media and refered all questions to GMB head office.
"I'm not allowed to speak to the media, if you need anything contact our head office and speak to the public relations department," said Shumba.
Farmers told TellZim News that some trucks would come and get in using the back entrance, offload their cargo and leave behind those that would have arrived much earlier.
“I have spent three days here without being served. Together with others, we have hired a truck to deliver our grain and the owners of the truck are charging us per each day we spend here,” said a farmer.
Another farmer said some unscrupulous truck drivers, working in cahoots with the depot management, were now exploiting the chaos to jump the queues using all sorts of funny explanations.
“Some of the drivers simply come and say they are carrying food aid from the Department of Social Welfare. They then jump the queues saying they cannot be expected to wait since they ostensibly would be in a hurry to deliver some of the grain to food aid recipients. It’s surprising though that most of them would offload all the grain here and leave. The management does not come out to tell us what is going on inside,” said another farmer.
Another farmer said she was pained that standards were not being enforced fairly, with some good grain being rejected for spurious reasons.
“They can tell you that your grain has too much moisture or that it’s too small, but go on to approve similar grain from someone else. There is too much corruption going on here,” said the farmer.agriculture
