Auxilia Mnangagwa

Siyabonga Sayi

GWERU – The Gweru Provincial Hospital on Friday last week begged First Lady Auxilia Mnangagwa for help to get a farm which will be used for a poultry project to help improve patients’ diet.
Mnangagwa visited the hospital as part of her tour of government hospitals in support of the cervical cancer screening programme.
The hospital’s food service supervisor, Cainos Moyo told the first lady that the hospital desperately needed land to implement a poultry project.
“Since you are here, we wish to inform you that we need a hospital farm so as to run our poultry project. Health experts recommended against fowl runs within the hospital’s premises,” said Moyo.
In response, the first lady advised the hospital management to write a formal request to the Ministry of Health and Child Care so that the matter can procedurally be taken forward from there.
“Include that issue in your concept papers and hand them over to the head office of the Ministry of Health and that will be addressed. The papers will be send back to the office of the Minister of State here in Gweru.
She said things are now being done properly, unlike in the past when decisions were implemented haphazardly.
“It’s no longer a matter of jumping protocol and hierarchy. We now follow the proper channels of addressing issues,” she said.politics
