The Reformed Church University (RCU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Dumbu was recently named among the top 20 leadership and business luminaries by Megafest Holdings on October 5, 2023.

RCU professor Emmanuel Dumbu was recognized as one of the top twenty leadership and business luminaries in Zimbabwe thereby making RCU an exceptional academic institution.

Speaking to TellZim News, Professor Dumbu said he was humbled and at the same time inspired by the important recognition that had been accorded to him, the University and the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe as a whole.

“These awards are special in that they are coinciding with RCU’s drive for institutional advancement and the current determination of the ministry of tertiary education, science, innovation and technology development of transforming Zimbabwean universities into institutional structures and culture in order to actively drive industrialization and economy through research,” said Prof Dumbu.

He said RCU received the award leading Information Communication and Technology (ICT) to be included at the heart of the university curriculum.

“The award which we received enables Information Communication Technology to be part of university curriculum for industrialization and for the production of goods and services,” he said.

Dumbu said focusing on innovation, industrialization and production of goods and services helped the university to produce useful research throughout and encouraged more learners with and without disabilities to acquire relevant skills to make them competitive on the job market as well as being job creators on their own.

He went on to commend the entire Reformed Church in Zimbabwe community, council, management team, students and RCU stake holders for working together saying they were behind the success story.

In its congratulatory message to the vice chancellor, the university says it treasures Prof Dumbu’s visionary leadership and the church leadership for the good work as evidenced by the recognition.

“We treasure the visionary leadership of the Church, Council, and Vice Chancellor for their outstanding dedication to the development of the RCU and Zimbabwe as a whole through provision of high quality education standards,” read the message.

Reformed Church University is in massive infrastructural development at its main campus in Masvingo, registering immense progress on several fronts.
