Pamushana tops yet again

For the umpteenth time, the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe (RCZ)’s Pamushana High School outperformed other schools in the province in the November 2017 ‘A’ level examinations whose results were released recently.
A snap survey released on Monday by the Provincial Education Director (PED) Zedius Chitiga’s office shows that Pamushana High School has the highest number of pupils who managed to obtain between nine and 15+ points.
One of the only two pupils in the whole country to score 30 points in the 2017 ‘A’ level exams, Tapiwa Dzviriri, comes from Pamushana High, while the other one, Tapiwa Marinda, is from Dewure High School in Gutu.
"Pamushana performed better than any other school in Masvingo province with 118 out of 127 pupils getting nine to 15 points or more," said Chitiga.
Pamushana High School head, Johnson Madhuku said there results will inspire an even more determined effort to keep on excelling.
“Ours is a task of producing the best out of pupils who are put under our care. We will never tire in that regard and we will always work hard to instill the confidence that our parents have in the school,” said Madhuku.
On second position in Bikita district is the Roman Catholic Church’s Silveira High School with 77 candidates who managed to obtain nine points or better.
Dewure High School, run by the Church of Christ, sits on number three in the province and is the champion of Gutu district, having produced 60 pupils with nine points or better out of 84 candidates. On second position in Gutu district is Mukaro High School with 52 pupils on the same range.
Ndarama Government High School produced 98 pupils with between nine and 15 or more points, making it the best in Masvingo Urban and number four in the province.
Of the 119 pupils who sat for their examinations at Gokomere High School in Masvingo rural district, 78 candidates managed to produce nine points or better, making the Catholic school number five in the province.
In Mwenezi district, Mwenezi Government High School is the champion with 35 pupils who produced nine points or better, followed by Lundi High School with 18.
Catholic-run St. Antony's Musiso High School sits at number one in Zaka district with 103 candidates with nine points or better. Rudhanda High School is second best with 19 pupils who managed to produce nine points or better.
In Chiredzi district, Hippo Valley High School is the champion with 67 out of 107 pupils obtaining between nine and 15 points. Terry Goss High School is second best in the district with 28 pupils getting between nine and 15 points.
RCZ’s Chibi High School in Chivi tops the district with 69 pupils managing nine points or better, followed by Berejena High School with 30 pupils who got nine to fifteen points.
It is, however, Gutu district which dominates the province’s top 10 with Dewure High School on position three, Mukaro High on position seven, Gutu High on number eight and Serima High sitting on 10.education
