Obert Chari, a Zion Christian Church (ZCC) member who sings in the choir, has released an album titled Mariyambutsa which carries a gospel love song which is rocking the airwaves and the social media space.
The song ‘Mable’ is an exchange between a poor but love-struck man deploring his unfortunate circumstances and background, to which his crush responds that love knows no bounds.
Mable is found on Chari’s 3rd album which carries other songs like Mariyambutsa, Mebo, Batai manzwi, Guta rinoera, Gombo, Ngoma yemugidhi, Dherira and Church yedu yoenda.
Chari’s earlier works are Ngoma yababa and Vaporofita venhema that he recorded under the rules of ZCC.
In Mable, he sings…Pane chinhu chinondinetsa mumoyo mangu…Imba kudzudzurwa nendove ungaigara? …mai kudokerwa kumaricho ndidye ndipfeke .…baba kuswera kuhovhoni ndiyende kuchikoro…Mable Mable washinga here Mable (There is something eating me up…. I come from a poor background, are you willing to put up with that?).
Towards the end of the song, the singer is heard praying to God to bless his parents who worked hard to raise him. He also asks God to give him a job and bless what he does for a living.
A married father of one, Chari grew up in Bikita with the late Sungura musician Chamunorwa Nebeta who became his favourite artist. He later realised he had a talent after the death of Nebeta.
The budding musician said he has the ZCC community to thank for supporting him from the time he made open his plans to record an album.
“I also thank the church for allowing me to have my music played on national radios,” said Chari.entertainment
