ZAKA – ZANU PF councilors in Zaka are clueless and do not know how council business is conducted, four legislators for Zaka constituencies have said.
Zaka legislators Paradzai chakona (Zaka Central), Vincent mawere (Zaka West), Robson Mavhenyengwa (Zaka North) and Samson Mukanduri (Zaka East) condemned their councilors for being subdued by the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) councilors despite being the majority.
Speaking at a meeting held at Jerera Council Hall last week, Chakona, Mavhenyengwa, Mukanduri and Mawere took turns to attack their councilors who are being dominated by only two MDC councilors.
“They discuss first before they come and you are only asked to second things that have been discussed already,” said Chakona.
He said that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Majaura was under the councilors ad should not make decisions alone. Chakona said Majaura should be whipped into line and if he fails they should fire him and replace him with a more competent person.
The councilors were also accused of employing unqualified personnel at the council like the Engineer, and were told that they had the power to hire and fire workers who are incompetent.
“You councilors have the power over the council grader not us but people blame us over its centralized use, and beware of (Peter) Imbayarwo, he is very clever and has a lot of influence,” said Mavhenyengwa.
Zaka Assistant District Administrator Victor Zinanga also accused the councilors for failure to understand how council operates.
“We need to organize an orientation for the councilors so that they know how it operates because they really do not know how council operates,” said Zinanga.
Analysts, however, said it is rather the entire Zanu PF which has failed the nation and the MPs should stop accusing councilors for they lacked orientation from the party. How can one talk of organizing an orientation now when the councilors are only left with less than two years before elections, one analyst questioned.news
