Nhenjana, Zivhu on collision course

MASVINGO – Acting Zanu PF provincial chairperson, Amasa Nhenjana has mocked provincial party treasurer, who is also Chivi Rural District Council chairperson, Killer Zivhu’s indications that he wants to take over as the party’s substantive provincial chairperson.
Nhenjana took a dig at Zivhu saying he must not take what he is told from hidden corners by Josaya Hungwe and bring it to the public as if that is the position of the party.
“When people discuss their dreams in private that is where they should stay. If then you come and scream at the top of your lungs and tell everybody that you want to be chairman, that’s a problem because you cannot be endorsed by one person.
“The party is bigger than any person and let us wait on the party. I am the acting chairperson but at no point have I gone around claiming to be what I am not,” said Nhenjana.
When contacted for comment, Zivhu laughs off at Nhenjana describing him as someone very immature and stupid who behaves like an Early Childhood Development (ECD) pupil.
“It’s a shame for Masvingo province to have a chairman of the calibre of Nhenjana. He is a mere stupid who behaves like an ECD pupil. He should concentrate on going to Madzibaba church. I cannot compete with Nhenjana; he is just too small.
“The party should revisit; I wonder how they gave such a strong post to a Grade 1 school dropout. He is not even the chairperson anyway; the chair is (Ezra) Chadzamira and he is currently on suspension and he might bounces back if he is cleared of any wrong doing by the politburo,” said Zivhu.
Two weeks ago Zivhu made it clear that he was politically mature to take over the leadership of the province saying the post needs a real man who can move the province forward.
Zivhu said he will wait for his godfather, psychomotor minister Josaya Hungwe, to coach him and nurture him to become a good chairperson.
As a result, there has been intense lobbying by perceived Team Lacoste members who want the Nhenjana-led interim executive dissolved and replaced with substantive leaders.
The executive is suspected to be fighting in the G40 corner with Nhenjana said to be harbouring his own ambitions to become the substantive chair.
When asked to comment on Zivhu’s ambitions and the latest push to dissolve his team, Nhenjana said Zanu PF is a democratic party that will always have elections when they are needed.
“The party should decide whether or not elections should be held at a particular point in time. We cannot just dream of elections and think we can wake up and stand on top of trees telling people that you want to be chairman.
“That is not the procedure. The central committee decides on that and if they are quiet it means they are happy with the current system so others should wait and give the party time,” said Nhenjana.
