An 18-year old ex-Gathsmine FC player and former student at Bere Secondary School is flying high after joining Kariba-based premier league outfit, ZPC Kariba following the demise of his former Division One club.
Tatenda Mugoniwa, who finished his ‘A’ Level last year and started his football career playing for Gaths Mine FC before the club pulled out of the race owing to financial constraints, signed a two year contract with ZPC Kariba early this year.
Speaking to TellZim News Mugoniwa described his move to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Kariba giants as a dream come true because of hard work on the pitch.
“It has always been my dream to play in the country’s most competitive league, something which I have just managed to achieve through hard work at my former club,” said Mugoniwa.
He said he is inspired by his brother Hillary Mugoniwa who plays for Chapungu FC and is looking forward to a bright future ahead of his career in the PSL.
“I am finally settling down here, and I know with hard work and team work, my future in the PSL is very bright”, said Mugoniwa.
Samuel Jakata who facilitated the young player’s move to his new club expressed confidence in Mugoniwa’s potential to impress.
“Having noticed the talent that the boy has I saw it fit to give the young star an opportunity to prove himself and I know that he will do it at ZPC Kariba.
“The passion to play the game runs in their family with Hillary having broken the ice with his move to Chapungu, which I facilitated.” Jakata added.sport
