GWERU- Preparations are now at an advanced stage for the first ever Midlands Show Society Gospel Concert scheduled for November 26, 2022 in the capital.
Gospel maestro Minister Michael Mahendere will be the guest artist and will be supported by gospel diva Dorcas Moyo.
The one day event will also showcase dance, drama, storytelling and poetry as well as exhibitions from various stakeholders and the business community.
Speaking during an interview in Gweru, Midlands Show Society president Pascal Muringani said preparations for the event were now at an advanced stage.
“The Midlands Show Society is going to hold a Gospel Music Concert, first of its kind and there will be a number of local artists from areas across Midlands.
“More so renowned Gospel artist Mahendere, Dorcas Moyo and the Joyful Praise Choir will keep the vibe alive.
“The show by virtue of its novelty is going to be a memorable event for the Midlands. Companies are called to come, showcase and sell their products,” he said.
He added that as a hive of entertainment, the festival is also going to boost the musical market.
“This show is aimed to spread the word of God and market musicians from across the province.
“Our catalogue provides commitment to the nationalisation and marketing of arts through the festival. Hopefully next year the concert will be bigger and better as we are going to look at roping in international artists within and around the region,” he added.
Entry fees are pegged as US$ 3 for children while adults will pay US$ 5.
