Man killed over stray goats

Maboleni – A 47 year old man from Maboleni area in Midlands was killed in a scuffle with a neighbour over stray goats.
Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to desist from using violence when in disagreement.
“I can confirm that we received a report where a man died after he was stabbed by a neighbour whose wife he had assaulted over stray goats. We appeal to members of the public to desist from resorting to violence when solving disputes and involve third parties where necessary.” he said
The horrific incident occurred on 25 June 2023 around 1700 hours at Kudzanayi Village under Chief Sogwala in Maboleni.
Circumstances are that, the now deceased Patrick Mutizwa was found assaulting his neighbor Amos Zvenyika’s wife over goats that usually strayed into his field destroying crops.
Seeing his wife being assaulted, Zvenyika, started assaulting Mutizwa and is alleged to have stabbed him with a sharp object.
The now deceased bled profusely and died the following morning. A police report was made and the police instituted investigations and took the deceased’s body to Gweru Provincial hospital.
