Takesure Chiragwi – Shabanie Mine FC head coach

ZVISHAVANE – Under siege Shabanie Mine FC gaffer Takesure Chiragwi is steadfast in his belief that his charges will not sink into the muddy waters of relegation when the curtains of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) come down in November.
Shabanie Mine FC are precariously sitting on position 15 with 32 points after blowing a perfect chance to collecting maximum points when they played against Triangle FC at Maglas Stadium over the weekend.
The match finished with a draw meaning Triangle FC is also very much still embroiled in the relegation matrix, sitting on position 11 with 37 points.
Earlier on, Bvaru-Bvaru saw their five match unbeaten run bubble burst at the hands of bitter city rivals FC Platinum in a mid week match played at Mandava Stadium where they lost two nil.
Chiragwi, however, is adamant that his side will claw its way out of the relegation zone, saying their main aim now is targeting a stay in the league.
“What is important now is to go back to the drawing board and concentrate on surviving relegation, which is key to the club. We are still in and still fighting, the guys did well and that point is okay. It adds to our points tally and will be valuable at the end,” said Chiragwi.
There were ugly scenes after the match, with a number of Bvaru-Bvaru supporters baying for the blood of the club’s technical manager Taku Shariwa whom they accused of sabotaging the coach.
The irate supporters stoned Shariwa’s car as he sped away from the angry mob.
This season’s bottom of the log is tightly contested with only six points separating 9th placed Black Rhinos FC and the relegation-threatened Bvaru-Bvaru, meaning that any slip in form will result in rivals escaping the relegation horror and leaving the misfortune for others.sport
