MWENEZI – In a desperate move to avenge himself for an adulterous wife, a Mwenezi man nearly died after his private parts were pulled after he tried to rape his young brother’s wife.
Onias Makuya (43), from Chizese village under Chief Maranda, was not formally charged when he appeared before Mwenezi Magistrate Honest Musiiwa last week but was remanded in custody for the alleged attempted rape.
It is alleged that on June 2 this year, Makuya allegedly ambushed the complainant, attacked her and demanded to have sexual intercourse with her claiming that it was necessary because her husband had had an affair with his wife too.
It was further alleged that Makuya then started to tussle with the complainant and tore her panties in the process.
Upon realising that she was about to be overpowered, the complainant allegedly pulled Makuya’s private parts until he released her and she ran screaming for help. She immediately reported the matter to her mother-in-law and a police report was made leading to Makuya’s arrest.
