Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Ezra Chadzamira and Junior Construction have donated roofing and other construction material to Vurombo Primary School.
The school was among one of the worst hit educational institutions in the province to be hit by the hailstorm that ravaged the city on October 5, 2026.
Junior Construction Director Noah Marima said they felt the need to assist since the school has a bigger enrolment.

“Vurombo Primary School is one of the biggest in the city with an enrolment of above 1000 hence we felt the need to chip in and assist in the small ways that we could since the damage was severe,” said Marima.
Junior Construction donated building material worth US$13 000 while Chadzamira repaired one block.
The October 5 hailstorm left about 32 schools in Masvingo and Gutu counting losses with roofs blown away and window panes destroyed.
Other learning institutions that had their buildings destroyed include Great Zimbabwe University Mucheke Campus, Masvingo PolyTechnic and Mucheke Vocational Training Centre.
The hailstorm affected an estimated 17 000 households and about 67 500 individuals.
Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority also incurred heavy losses due to the hailstorm as infrastructure worth around US$300 000 was affected leaving parts of the city in darkness for about two weeks.
