Pastor Chironda launches New Creation Embassy

Clayton Shereni

Prosperity gospel preacher, Pastor Onward Chironda has formed his own church, New Creation Embassy, parting ways with the Life in Christ Church International which brought him into the limelight in Masvingo a few years ago.
He conducted his first service with the new church on Sunday, October 07, in the presence of many followers, though the official launch is scheduled to be held at Flamboyant Hotel on October 28.
The official launch will be preceded by an all-night prayer at the same venue on October 26.
Answering questions from TellZim News later on, Chironda said he got a vision from God to start his own church, adding there was no bad blood between him and his former church.
“I made a lot of progress with the previous ministry including growing the following, acquiring stand for the church stand in Victoria Ranch, buying chairs and a public address system but I decided to follow my calling and my new God-given vision,” said Chironda.
The man of the cloth also said this was the time to preach the word of God and bring many people to the serving-knowledge of Christ.
“I have no doubt that this is the time that this God has called us to preach the undiluted gospel of Jesus Christ with a mandate of bringing many to the realisation of His divine purpose for their lives through this glorious and excellent ministry.
“I believe in prosperity. People have to make progress in their lives because if God is for us, then who can really be against us?” Chironda said.
Chironda claims to have been inspired by Spirit Embassy founder and leader Uebert Angel, whom he reportedly met in South Africa at International School of Ministry which is ran by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s Christ Embassy church.

Finance Min Mthuli: Professor of incompetence

0

Mapombi is sure by now Malaba and colleagues now have the V11 forms they were asking as primary evidence – the V11 forms are there for everyone to see. Prices of basic commodities are increasing every day; supermarkets shelves are almost getting empty; rampant fuel shortage and ever increasing black market forex rates. Ndozvamaidaka izvi nhai? And if you ask a not so intelligent minister like Jorum Gumbo he will continue telling you that the fuel shortages are artificial. Gumbo should be forgiven for he not really understand what it means when saying the shortage is artificial – anotodawo kubatsirwa uyu, never mind that he is a Dr kkkkkk PhD chaiyo.
They have rigged the elections; they won the elections through the courts; we hope the courts will help them to win this case against the economy and I am sure Malaba will deliver a favourable judgment soon.  Kkkkkkk the late Tsvangirai was very clear that you can rig elections but not the economy. This is where we are now and even those who were supporting ED are now thinking otherwise.
Kkkkkkk but Mapombi akambozvitaura kuti kufarira kupinda kwaED kufarira n’anga neinondobata amai chionai manje Murambwi venyu zvava kutiitira. From nepotism to tribalism; it’s either you are from Gutu if you are in Mavsingo province for one to get a ministerial post or you are from Midlands especially Mberengwa kuti zvikufambire. Or at least you should be a Moyo in order to get a better post.  That is ED for you!
Mapombi will not hestate to say the truth; ED and uncle Bob are like identical twins maitiro avo akangofanana. Just last week we saw use of brutal force on ZCTU leadership who were planning to exercise their constutitional right to demonstrate against the illegal 2cents tax which was imposed by Prof Mthuli. This is exactly what uncle Bob used to do kungorova nekuurayisa vanhu mahara. Mapombi therefore, will not care much about this shameless nepotism by ED because he inherited it from uncle Bob and as such he should be forgiven for that.
It’s now time to be honest with each other guys; we cannot continue sugarcoating the current economic crisis and shortage of basic essentials as artificial.  The challenge is that the majority of the comrades appointed are not so intelligent and they are clueless to say the least. Some are said to be technocrats but they leave a lot to be desired and one may end up asking are these really technocrats?  At least two or three are genuine technocrats – Chitando, Murwira kwete ana Moyo vehealth avo vakaiswa because of their surname inonzi Moyo.
For Mthuli please hold on a bit; Mapombi don’t really understand this Professor Mthuli guy; he is so detached from the truth zvinotobhowa. Mapombi is very sure Mthuli is a professor of incompetence – the guy is a complete failure judging by the current prevailing economic crisis and his somewhat pro-elite policies he imposed on poor Zimbabweans. Vanoda kuti isu varombo tirwadziwe asi ivo they allocate each other thousands of fuel coupon and top of the range vehicles and after that they tell us kuti we have to feel the pain kuti zvinhu zvinake. We will say no, in fact povho yakatojamuka kudhara and the results are there for everyone to see. Ndoma V11 forms and primary evidence yamaichemeraka iyi – the evidence is there that these comrades have failed to solve the economy.
Mthuli is responsible for all these shortages of fuel and basic goods in the country. And if you ask Gumbo he will tell us the shortage is artificial kkkkkkkkk baba vaya aka vanoda kubatsirwa chaiko! Wake up and smell the coffee minister the shortage is real.
Anyway, Mapombi will not waste time talking of Gumbo who is not new to controversy –  im sure he retains the ministerial post simply because he hails from Mberengwa otherwise zvingadaro akaenda pakaenda vamwe uyu.
So Mthuli saw it fit to fundraise money from the suffering people so that they can buy their top of the range vehicles. They don’t want to trim down their benefits, not at all, but they want suffering citizens to rather pay 2cents per dollar so that they can maintain their flamboyant lifestyles as ministers.
But I like Zimbabweans, they do not have power but they have a wonderful way of responding to those who think they have power to impose things on them – I am sure by now Mthuli has learnt something – the hard way of course. We shall see; handei tione kuti ndiyani achakurirwa but what I know is the economy is kneeling down and soon muchapa kutenda henyu mamboti madii. For some of us kana hanya because nhamo taijaira – seni Mapombi nhamo ndakaidzidziswa neZanu PF so im very much grateful. At least there is one thing this Zanu government accepted at last, that is, Bond Note is equivalent to US$.  Kkkkkkkkk they tried kuti zvakaenzana but vazozvionera manje kuti mombe nedhongi hazvina kufanana.
Mapombi wonder what kind of a learned minister Mthuli is? A minister borrowing money everywhere simply for importing fuel, soyabeans, wheat, electricity and other raw materials apa production dololololo hahahahaha hakuna munhu akadzidza anoita zvakadai. Kukanga mbeu zvinoitawo here vakomana. We want production. Period!
Mapombi noticed the black market rates are increasing and now US$100 is attracting over $400 Bond Notes  and Zanu PF will tell you that things will normalize kkkkkkk musationa senge marema varume imi. In fact if it is Nick Mangwana he will tell the nation that we are above the situation kkkkkkk wotoshaya kuti baba ava vanorarama munyika ino here or vachiri kuUK. We are not above the situation Cde Nick; the situation is way below us – underneath. That’s the problem of employing people on the basis that they write propaganda columns vachitukirira Chamisa – we want people with relevant qualifications, please.
Anyway, it’s almost lunch time let me go ndindokanga zvangu maputi angu for lunch ndizvidyire munyika yavaED iyi. At least maputi will be the last thing kushaikwa because chibage hobho munyika and that is the reason hupfu husiri kukwira. But Mphoko must have solutions to all these problems – we should take him to Rainbow Towers in Harare ambogara zvake ipapo nefamily achibatsira nyika with solutions to solve prevailing economic crisis. Mboko imboko!

Dozens of MSU students participated in the cleanup exercise

Darlington Kanyongo

ZVISHAVANE – Some students at the local campus of the Midlands State University (MSU) on October 17 cleaned up the environs of Shabani Mine Hospital as a way of communicating their commitment to environmental health.
Speaking during the exercise, Margaret Nsiyaludzu, a nurse at the hospital, praised the cleanup campaign, saying it sent an important message that clean surroundings were a responsibility of all citizens.
“I am pleased with what is being done here because it shows that the generation of these students is a better generation, a generation which will help to build a better Zimbabwe.
“Many patients were wondering what was happening outside and I informed them that there were MSU students cleaning around the premises. They too were pleased with what the students are doing,” she said.
Mandava and Makwasha warden, who is also deputy director of sports and recreation, Dr Kaves Zvapano said the event was just the beginning of even greater things that the university planned to do for the hospital.
“This is just the beginning of greater things to come. We came here today on zero budget, but next time we are going to do something even greater,” he said.
Davice Chiware, a student at MSU, thanked his colleagues for mobilising themselves for an event which she said had brought a positive change to the environment. She also called for a bigger response in all future charitable activities, saying the university had a critical role to play in the wellbeing of the town.

Women need to be proactive with their health, Zvishavane Lion’s Club says

Several members of the public received free medical information and services from Zvishavane Lion’s Club during the outreach

…many dying of cancer, diabetes due to lack of information

Darlington Kanyongo

ZVISHAVANE – Several members of the Lions Club on October 20 stationed themselves at Pote Central open ground to educate people on how to fight the spread of cervical and breast cancers.
They shared information with members of the public on the need for constant screening and blood tests for early detection of such medical conditions as diabetes.
Lions Club president, Chengetai Phiri told TellZim News that he had observed that a number of people did not know their diabetes status as they gave little regard to that.
“We are doing this diabetes testing for free and women are being given information on some types of cancer which have claimed many lives. We have realised that people in urban areas rarely visit the hospital for such services as they are always busy with other things,” he said.
One of the beneficiary of the outreach programme was Lisa Mabena who thanked the club for helping her understand the importance of being pro-active with the health of her body.
“I wasn’t aware that not getting screened for cancer is directing putting yourself on the line. I am very grateful for the free services I received here,” she said.
Some 110 people got their blood glucose level tested while 64 women received information on the importance of getting breast and cervical cancer screening.
A one-year-old baby also got her blood glucose level tested, while eight adults were referred to Zvishavane District Hospital after being found to be diabetic.
Lion’s Club chairperson, Martin Muserere thanked Nyaradzo Funeral Services for helping them with tents and Zvishavane District Hospital for providing them with two nurses and three lab technicians for the exercise.

Sanitary pads donation makes girl child’s life easier

ZVISHAVANE – Female learners at the council-owned George Chipadza Secondary School recently received a donation of sanitary wear from the Helper International Club on October 25.
The club donated 200 sanitary pads to pupils in forms one and two on October 25.
Helper International Club president Prosper Mukombami told TellZim News that the  school was identified by Bethany Project, a community-based organisation which works with the less privileged.
The school was chosen because it accommodates a large population of less privileged pupils who struggle to get basic needs.
“We have realised that urban poverty is an issue affecting many girls, with parents not affording to provide their children with proper sanitary wear. There are statistics that only two out of 10 pupils can afford proper sanitary wear, and the rest use such things as toilet rolls or newspapers. It is this reality that has spurred us to do something for the children,” Mukombami said.
The beneficiaries spoke on how the recent price increases had forced them to improvise odd ways of meeting the demands of their periods.
“Sanitary pads are now unaffordable and we end up using newspapers and tissues, or we tear pages from our exercise books or pieces of clothing,” said one pupil.
Tatenda Rukanda from Bethany Project demonstrated how to use the pads and spoke on the dangers of using tissues, newspapers and pieces of clothing as sanitary wear.
“When you are using a piece of cloth, it is advisable that the cloth should be super clean and ironed before use,” she said.
Tendai Museva, a health officer at George Chipadza, thanked the club for helping the school with the provisions.
“I really appreciate what the club has done today. I do hope that they will keep on doing the good work. The school has been providing the sanitary wear but is was now struggling as the price of the commodity has been rising non-stop,” she said.

Chipinge youths bemoan lack of business funding

Chitambo makes a presentation during the Youth in Business consultative forum

Stephen Ephraem

Chipinge youth are complaining about the lack of funding for their businesses start-ups, with many saying their ideas and efforts are not being complemented.
This came out at a Youth in Business consultative forum that was organised by The Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts and Recreation in Chipinge last Thursday.
The meeting was facilitated by Cletus Potsekai and Atanas Matambandini, who are both from the host ministry’s district offices.
The youth from various wards of Chipinge bemoaned the lack of support in the form of non-collateral loans and grants for those who are not yet established in business.
They also said they would be in a better position to thrive if they are given special consideration in the allocation of residential and commercial stands.
They called for the establishment of youth centres and digital business platforms as well as training in financial management and greater access to vocational training centres for young people in all constituencies.
In response, Mike Mudodo of Chipinge Rural District Council (RDC) encouraged the youth to apply for land like every other citizen of Zimbabwe.
“Shun illegal settlements, participate in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programmes and you will see diseases like cholera disappearing from your communities,” said Mudodo.
Ministry of Industry and Commerce Chipinge district business development officer, Ivy Katawa challenged the youth to register their business before talking of funding.
“Financiers give preference to registered entities that have a clear vision and has the potential to grow. A business that has a clear cash flow forecast can easily attract financiers,” said Chitambo.
Isau Woyo from the Department of Agritex whose mandate is food and nutrition security urged the youth to get technical advice.
“Chipinge is doing well in maize and beef production but it requires youth in business to work with our department in order to maximise yield,” said Woyo.
Gabriel Jaji from the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development warned youth to desist from the practice of failing to repay government loans.
“Youth must practice financial discipline and be ready to repay loans. We only approve funding for projects that are realistic and bankable. One should have a ready market before submitting a project proposal,” said Jaji.

“There are no limits to what you can accomplish, except limits you place on your own thinking,” said Hillthru Enterprises boss Taguma Benjaman Mazarire after being named the Megafest Best Provincial Businessperson of the Year.
Hillthru Enterprises, a successful microfinance institution headquartered in Masvingo Urban, has managed to spread its wings across the country with 18 branches.
Under the able leadership of Mazarire, Hillthru Enterprises has managed to be an all-weather friend to civil servants by granting them loans at affordable and favorable rates.
For his unparalleled business acumen, Megafest Holdings, the custodians of the Megafest Business Awards, crowned Mazarire with the colourful title.
Mazarire managed to shrug off competition from N. Richards Group southern region director, Andrew Chekani who was named first runner up.
The business mogul also has footprints in mining, agriculture, education, politics, philanthropy and retail across the province and beyond.
Mazarire expressed gratitude for the accolade bestowed upon him, saying he took it to be a special recognition for his resilience in providing services despite the difficult economic conditions.
“It comes as a great honor to me and my company. I never thought our work could be impacting the lives of so many people.
“We thrive as the best money lending institution in the country and by the ways things are going, we can confidently say the future is ours.
“I would not have done it without the support of my staff and I would like to thank them unreservedly for working towards the organisational vision,” said Mazarire.
As the country moves towards devolution to provinces, business people like Mazarire, among others, carry the province’s hopes of achieving the upper middle income economy by 2030.

600 bags of command fertilisers stolen in Mwenezi

Cephas Shava

MWENEZI – Several Lundi business centre residents and others from elsewhere who recently invaded a broken down truck and looted 600 bags of fertiliser meant for the government’s maligned command agriculture programme are in trouble with the law.
The residents took advantage of the truck, which had developed mechanical faults while travelling along the Masvingo-Beitbridge highway, to make off with its cargo.
As of last week, about 300 bags of the looted fertilisers had been recovered and nearly 35 people had been arrested and dragged to the Mwenezi Magistrates’ Court on charges of theft.
Some of the suspects pleaded guilty, many of them admitting stealing as much as 35 bags of fertiliser each.
Some were ordered to pay fines of varying sizes while others were ordered to perform community service at public institutions.
It was heard that on October 14 at around 08:00hrs, Kaitano Kateya, the driver of the haulage truck had a tyre burst at the 105km peg along the road.
While Kateya was busy extinguishing the fire that was about to engulf his load, several Lundi residents and motorists stampeded to the scene where they went on a looting spree, stealing all the 600 bags of fertiliser that was in the truck.
When police launched a manhunt following the looting incident, some of the stolen bags of fertiliser were recovered from houses of the suspects while others were found discarded at open spaces.
By the time of writing, more suspects were still coming to court and half of the stolen fertiliser was said to have been recovered while investigations continued.

Agitated motorist loses cool at fuel station, bites police man

MASVINGO – A police officer who was deployed to maintain order at Glow fuel station in town had a bad time recently after an agitated motorist who had lost patience at the slow-moving queue attacked him.
Owen Dzinodya (30) who resides at House number 1912 Tembwe Street, Aphiri, appeared before Masvingo magistrate Rufaro Mangwiro facing charges of assaulting or resisting a peace officer.
Dzinodya pleaded not guilty to the charges and was ordered to come back to court on November 07 with a witness.
It is the State’s case that on October 20, Alex Mutamburirwa (35) a police officer stationed at Masvingo Central Police Station was accompanied by support unit details to maintain order at Glow Petroleum fuel station along Robertson Street.
The court heard that while doing his duties, the complainant approached the accused who was alleged to be jumping the queue and causing mayhem.
Upon being confronted by the officer who was trying to cool him down, it is alleged that the emotionally-charged Dzinodya grabbed the cop and dragged him to the ground before biting him once on the left thigh.
In the scuffle, the police officer was injured and got his trousers’ pocket torn off. The assailant then got into his vehicle, locked the doors before other officers finally managed to arrest him.
Andrew Ndaramira represented the State.
