Mpandawana – Gutu South legislator Dr Paul Chimedza has promised to sponsor a football tournament in his constituency as part of his efforts to give back to his community and interact with the people that he represents.
Dr Chimedza has initiated a number of projects in Gutu South since his election as MP in 2013 but all of them have stalled midway due to factional battles ravaging the ruling party.
Regarding the tournament, Dr Chimedza said both primary and secondary schools in Gutu South will take part starting with zonal games and then district finals.
He said he has decided to interact with the people of his constituency through social activities including sponsoring the soccer tournament adding that there will be 17 secondary schools and 43 primary schools which will be participating in this tournament.
“I am glad that I am able to work with the education sector of my constituency. This was my wish from the beginning because that is where I was raised. I hope we are going to motivate the schools in Gutu South and get the support of teachers in this constituency.  I also hope that they are going to cooperate in many ways” said Dr Chimedza.news
