Gokwe – A 41-year-old man was recently robbed of his cash by three unknown men at his home.
The incident occurred at Ringo Village in Chief Njelele area on September 12 2021, around midnight.
It was reported that on September 12 2021, the complainant Samuel Samu was asleep in his bedroom with his wife when three unknown men armed with logs broke in.
The three demanded US $700-00 cash which the complainant had obtained after selling his two cattle the previous day.
They went on to assault him with logs advising him to submit to their demands.
Fearing for his life, the complainant handed over the cash to them before they disappeared.
Midlands Police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko appealed to members of the public who might have information on the whereabouts of the three to contact police.
“We are appealing to anyone with information that can help in identification and arrest of the culprits behind this case to report at the nearest police station.
“Apparently, the robbers had full knowledge of the cattle sell transaction and that the money was home hence the attack.
“Farmers are encouraged to keep all their cash transactions a closely guarded secret whenever possible and once they receive large sums of money; they should not keep it in their homes, but deposit it in banks,” said Mahoko.
