Mwenezi – Chief Chitanga’s court has fined a headman four cattle for engaging in an adulterous affair with the wife of his younger cousin brother.
Lovemore Chuma CB of Mushayavanhu village pleaded guilty to charges of having an adulterous relationship with the wife of his namesake cousin, Lovemore Chuma MB who resides in Chipwanga village.
It was heard that Chuma CB and Tambudzai Jeke engaged in a series of sexual encounters when the unemployed Chuma MB was out looking for piece jobs to fend for his family.
The two however said they had engaged in a sexual encounter only once.
After full trial, Chief Chitanga ruled that Chuma CB, who initially had been charged five beasts by the complainant, should pay four beasts as a token of regret to show contrition for having an affair with Chuma MB’s wife.local
