CHIREDZI – The Chiredzi Rural District Council (RDC) has praised Coal Zimbabwe Private Limited, an Indian company, for constructing and furnishing a classroom block at a cost of US$40 000.
Addressing villagers during the handover ceremony of the classroom block, Chiredzi RDC chairperson Alderman Matsilele thanked the company for its corporate social responsibility work.
“This is a testimony of how significant it is for the community to work with the company in addressing pressing challenges. We are all delighted because this goes a long way in improving the standards of education here at Chisambiji Primary School,” said Matsilele.
Coal Zimbabwe (PVT) LTD, a subsidiary of Steel Makers, which was represented by its managing director Malpas Patel said they will continue partnering local communities to find solutions to local challenges.
“This is one testimony of our sound relationship with the community. The help we get from the community in our day to day operations cannot go without a visible thank you,” said Patel.
He also promised that the company will drill a borehole at the school before the end of the year so as to improve the water situation at the school.
“As a company, we would like to tell you that before the end of this year, we are going to drill a borehole here so that pupils will have access to clean and safe drinking water all the time,” Patel said.business
