MASVINGO – All roads lead to Masvingo for the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day to be held on November 25, 2016 at the Civic Centre.
The conference will run under the theme ‘Celebrate, Empower and Support Women in Business.’
The event will be graced by high profile keynote speakers like Vice Chancellor of the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU), Professor Sunungurai Mutanga and Dr Marah Hativagone who was the first black woman president of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC).
Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is an internationally recognised day that is meant to empower, celebrate and support women in business globally.
It is a movement aimed at uplifting women in business.
Statistics show that women perform 66 percent of the world’s work, yet earn 10 percent of the world’s income.
They also account for 85 percent of consumer purchases and control US$20 trillion in worldwide spending.
The 2016 Women’s Entrepreneurship Ambassador for Zimbabwe, Angeline Mikiri praised efforts being made to inspire women in business.
“It will be a day to support women in business and it is also a platform for one to showcase what they have. It will be an opportunity for networking while celebrating women in business,” Mikiri said.
Meanwhile, all tertiary institutions in Masvingo have already confirmed their participation.
The event will also give business people a chance to exhibit their products.
The guest of honour for the day will be the minister of Small to Medium Enterprise and Co-operative Development, Sithembiso Nyoni.
