CHIREDZI – A perverted Zaka man is in trouble for allegedly forcing himself on a 15-year-old girl who had spurned his repeated love proposals, TellZim News can reveal.
Rabson Makore of Marufu village, Chief Bota, appeared before the Chiredzi Regional Court charged with rape and was remanded in custody for further trial.
Makore pleaded not guilty and told magistrate Judith Zuyu he was in a love relationship with the girl and they had agreed to have sex on many occasions.
The minor, however, testified that the accused approached her when she was watering her garden at around midday on October 16, 2016 and demanded sex.
“He told me that he had proposed enough and now he wanted sex from me because I had rejected his proposal,” she said.
The court also heard that Makore then produced a machete with which he threatened to kill the girl after he had realised that she wanted to escape.
It is alleged that Makore then tore a black skin tight undergarment which the girl wore and raped her once before threatening to kill the girl if she reported the matter to anyone.
The matter came to light in March 2017 after the girl divulged the rape to her mother, and a police report was made, leading to the arrest of Makore.
