CHIREDZI – The Seventh Day Adventist Church is constructing a new state-of-the-art boarding school at the Save SDA campsite to offer well-rounded education premised on science and practical subjects, while offering elite sporting disciplines and arts education.
Situated close to the mighty Save River towards Checheche, the SDA Save campsite project will act as an extension of other projects like the church’s primary and early childhood education facilities in Chiredzi.
SDA building community vice chairperson for Chiredzi district Ishmael Moyo told TellZim News that the church had already built three blocks while plans are there for other buildings so that many children will be enrolled for quality and affordable education.
“We are yet to build the boys and girls dormitories and we are also going to construct a dining hall and a principal’s house. Our standing vision is to reach out to communities and offer them well-rounded education, grounded in sciences and practical orientation.
“The school will be opened as soon as we finish doing all the necessary work and we will begin recruiting Form 1 pupils as we work on other facilities. We have realised the need for the kind of school we are building here for parents with children in Chiredzi and elsewhere.
“We aim to maintain the high pass rate standards at our primary school and our school fees will be more affordable than what parents are getting elsewhere,” added Moyo.
Parents who spoke to TellZim News said they welcomed the school which will also offer such novel practical subjects like wildlife conservation and sugarcane farming.
“The SDA has a good record of maintaining the best standards and high levels of discipline at all the institutions it runs so I am glad that our own children here will soon have the same opportunity to gain from those same standards,’ said one parent.religion
