12 Jan 2018 – MWENEZI – Zanu PF leaders have urged supporters to dump party regalia that bear the image of ousted President Robert Mugabe and embrace the latest version with the portrait of incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Addressing supporters at an inter-district meeting held at Rutenga Primary School last Saturday, Zanu PF national youth secretary Pupurai Togarepi said wearing regalia with Mugabe’s face on it was now taboo.
“Hembe dziya dzaive nepicture yaVaMugabe chimbodzimirai, ngadzimboiswa paside. Tave neitsva dzaPresident Mnangagwa. Kupfeka hembe dziya dzakare zvakafanana nemukadzi anoroorwa nemurume wechipiri. Aroorwa kudero avekugara nemurume wake wechipiri anoramba achiti kana akagumburwa nechitsiga anodana zita remurume akambomuroora pakutanga. Izvo ngatimbozvimirai. Hembe itsva dziri munzira dziri kuuya nehuwandu,” said Togarepi.
Togarepi, who preached development and urged party structures to unite, took councillors to task, threatening to make surprise visits to monitor progress in developmental projects that should be spearheaded by councillors in their respective wards across the district.
In his remarks, provincial chairperson Ezra Chadzamira likened Mugabe’s wife Grace to the Biblical Delilah who led a great man to his downfall.
The meeting was attended by several MPs and high ranking provincial and district officials.top news
