MASVINGO- Mukudza Tatenda(19), Koga Emmanuel (20) and Jabulo Tshuma (19) recently appeared before magistrate Peter Madiba facing theft charges and were sentenced to a 90 days jail term wholly suspended on condition they pay $400 worth of the laptop.
It is the state’s case that on February 22 this year at around  16.30, the three used an unknown object to unlock a police Mazda pick – up truck which was  parked along Hughes Street opposite N. Richards Wholesale facing Pick ‘n’ Pay supermarket parking space in the Central Business District (CBD).
The trio then stole a laptop worth US$400 belonging to one police officer. Upon realising that the laptop was stolen, a police report was made leading to the arrest of the trio.
In another separate theft case, the court heard that on February 21 during the night, the three together with Masinire Fidelis of Machinja Village under Chief Bota in Zaka connived and went to Delta Beverages Masvingo Depot and climbed the precast wall and stole 24 empty crates worth $48.
They later sold them and the police acted on a tip off which led to the arrest of the quartet.
They were sentenced to 30 days imprisonment wholly suspended on condition that each one of them pay $48 worth of the crates.
