In a bid to fight water shortages in the city, Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs Shuvai Mahofa has pledged to donate a borehole to the Masvingo City council.
Masvingo Town Clerk Adolf Gusha said council appreciates the Provincial Minister’s sign of goodwill.
“The Minister wrote to us advising that she will donate a borehole to Masvingo City Council to be drilled at the Civic Centre Gardens. Feasibility studies will be carried out to determine a suitable site. The borehole will be the second in the Civic Centre Gardens and will assist during water shortages. Council has since accepted the donation,” Gusha said.
When conducted for comment, Mahofa said she wishes to do all that she can to help other communities across the province to have access to clean water.
“I am working on a borehole that I will donate to Masvingo City Council. My wish is to embark on other developmental projects in the province. Lack of resources is the major limitation but we will continue to work hard to improve the welfare of our people,” Mahofa said.news
