TRIANGLE-Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe (THZ), the main sponsor of Triangle United Football Club (TUFC) has promised to rally behind the team promising full support as the team returns to Premier Soccer League.
Speaking during the club’s congratulatory dinner held at Triangle Country Club recently, Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe (THZ) Managing Director, Tendai Masawi promised the team full support towards their stay in PSL and warned the team against match fixing as it would cost the club.
“You won’t be representing yourselves but the 16 000 THZ employees and their families, meaning you will have a huge support base. As long as I am here, I will be coming to Gibbo Stadium whenever you play to support you. We do not need undercuts, it costs the team,” said Masawi.
Club president, Ushe Chinhuru applauded the team’s success saying it was the Managing Director’s desire for the team to return back to the premier league and it was the team’s first key result area.
“The Managing Director eagerly wanted TUFC to get back into the premier league and it was made my first key result area apart from my other job. Things just turned around since then as we got all we needed including financial and emotional support,” said Chinhuru.
During the dinner, the company honored best performing players during their run up towards the return to the premier league. Thabani Kamusoko was awarded most disciplined player and Praise Machengeta most improved player.
Munashe Bamara was named player of the year, Jordan Pedro most consistent player and Prince Mujuru with the goalkeeper of the year. Stephen Zhowe was awarded the golden boot and Ali Sadiki with the player of the year award.
