Man dies after falling off from tractor

A 30-year-old tractor driver from Zvishavane lost his life in an unknown dust road near Zone 14 Triangle after he hit a hump and fell to the ground on May 11.
Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the death of Sydney Shava To TellZim News and urged drivers to be attentive when driving.
“I confirm the death of Shava who was involved in a Massey Ferguson Tractor accident that had one passenger on board. We advise all drivers to be attentive and alert when driving,” said Inspt Dhewa.
Circumstances are that on the day in question, Shava was driving a Massey Ferguson Tractor with three trailers along an unknown dust road near Zone 14, Triangle with one passenger on board. Upon arrival at Zone 14 Shava hit a hump and was thrown out of the tractor.
The trailers’ wheels ran over Shava and the passenger did not sustain any injury.
Shava sustained head injuries and died on the spot and his body was taken to Chiredzi District Hospital for post-mortem.
In October last year, one person died while two were injured after a tractor they were travelling in was involved in an accident the 1km peg along old Zaka – Chiredzi road.
James Hobwani (21) of Magumire Village1 in Chiredzi was driving a Londini Solis tractor with two passengers on board.
Upon arriving at 1km peg along Old Zaka-Chiredzi road, Hobwani lost control of the tractor resulting on the tractor overturning once and landing on its wheels.
As a result of the accident Hobwani sustained severe spine injuries and was taken to Chiredzi Provincial Hospital were where he died upon arrival.
