Epileptic man drowns in Seke River

09 April 2017, MUTARE – A 22-year-old man from Rusape drowned in Seke River after suffering what is believed to be an epileptic seizure while bathing in the river recently.
The man, identified as Cosmos Chingwena, is believed to have fallen into the river after a bout of fits.
Manicaland Police Spokesman Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa said the incident happened in Tekede village under Chief Makoni in Rusape recently.
Chingwena’s body was first seen by Edmore Makaure of the same village who had gone to the same river.
After the ghastly find, Makaure rushed and informed Chingwena’s mother Greater Makure. Villagers came to help her retrieve the body and a police report was made later.
Meanwhile a 10-year-old boy from Odzi died after drowning in Odzi River. Manicaland police confirmed the incident.
The circumstances are that Devine Kampiro of Mwadewekunze village under Chief Zimunya and his friend Dickson Pfumbirai of the same village were on their way to the garden. Kampiro tried to cross Odzi River and he drowned.
Pfumbirai informed his father Forget Pfumbirai. By the time of his arrival, Kampiro had already died but no foul play was suspected.local
