24 Feb 2017 – MANICALAND – President Robert Mugabe is said to have been angered by Manicaland province where many opposition political leaders come from, a development which forced Minister of Water, Environment and Climate, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri to publicly apologise to First Lady Grace Mugabe at a rally held at St Jones Chifamba Primary School last Friday.
Muchinguri was referring to Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) leader Morgan Tsvangirai, Bishop Abel Muzorewa, Ndabaningi Sithole, Simba Makoni, Margret Dongo and Didymus Mutasa who all hail from Manicaland province and they have all formed opposition political parties to fight Mugabe.
“It’s humiliating that we have the highest number of opposition politicians coming from Manicaland. I want to apologise for that and I promise you that we are soon going to deal with the rebels,” said Muchinguri.
At the rally, the First Lady also took time to deride Mutasa and disputed ZimPF leader, Joice Mujuru, whom she described as lazy and incompetent.
“Ini ndakatombomubvunza iyeyu Mutasa kuti ungamugona iyeyu Queen Bee (Mujuru) who is incompetent. After spending so many years as a minister and other 10 years as a Vice President, she cannot define ideology,” said Grace.
She also attacked internal dissent in Zanu PF, saying those who call for President Mugabe to retire must themselves retire first because they too have been in government since 1980 and have nothing to show of it in terms of delivery.
“I am the First Lady because you elected the president of the nation. Some will be saying Mugabe should go because he is old. I am the only one who should say the president should leave so that I take office because l didn’t start with him in 1980. So no one should say Mugabe should go when you all started together in 1980.politics
