19 Feb 2017 – CHIREDZI – Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) technical director, Taurai Mangwiro will be taking the hot seat at Triangle United as the new coach and has already resigned from ZIFA so as to lead the Team, TellZim News has learnt.
Mangwiro told this publication that there is an element of truth on the talk of his move to Gibbo although he said the matter is not yet official.
He however confirmed that he had already resigned from ZIFA in preparation of his new job.
“I cannot actually confirm about the developments because it is yet to be made official, but there is an element of truth. I have resigned from ZIFA preparing for the post at Triangle United,” said Mangwiro.
After ending their marriage to David ‘Yogi’ Mandigora just after one year, Triangle United have had a torrid time finding a suitable successor, with at least two coaches said to have turned down offers from the club.
They include Sunday ‘Mhofu’ Chidzambwa who is now with ZPC Kariba and Egyptian Mohammed Fathy, who is plying his career in Zambia.
If all goes well, Mangwiro is scheduled to take over mentorship of the team before the season kicks off on April 1 and once all technicalities have been taken care of.
Recently, Captain Ronald Mudimu and his vice Lameck Nhamo were spotted in charge of the pre-season training at Gibbo stadium as the club scouted for a coach.
Efforts to reach club chairperson Lovemore Matikinyidze were fruitless by the time of going to print.sport

19 Feb 2017 – MASVINGO – Phineas Magwati, a music lecturer at Masvingo Teachers College and Dunmore Jamanda, a music teacher at Victoria Primary School, have embarked on a project of rehabilitating homeless children and giving them life skills.
The two are being supported by Masvingo Association of Residential Care Facilities,
The initiative, dubbed ‘Masvingo street children music training project’, has already attracted more than ten children living on the streets and three of them have already been rehabilitated.
Masvingo Association of Residential Care Facilities coordinator; Zendakwaye Zendakwaye told TellZim News the projects seeks to make a life-long difference to children living on the streets.
“The project seeks to empower these children with self-sustenance skills through talent identification, moulding and development using local apprentice in music. In the interim, it also provides recreation, psycho-social support and a platform for them to open up for facilitation of reunion with their backgrounds,” Zendakwaye said.
Magwati said he was moved by the plight of homeless children and had resolved to work to make a difference.
“Besides braving the hostile street conditions in terms of food and shelter, street children are seen as delinquents and as unbothered by risky behaviour such as racing with trolleys, sniffing glue, swimming in flooded Mucheke and Shakashe rivers as well as frequenting commercial sex work hot spots,” Magwati said.
Jamanda said he was happy the project, which is still at its elementary level, was already producing results.
“Of the three children who have been successfully rehabilitated, one has rejoined his family while the other two have rejoined the children’s home from where they had ran away,” said Jamanda.
He however bemoaned the shortage of music instruments which he said was a setback in their wish to scale up the work being done.
“We appeal to well-wishers to support us with traditional instruments like mbira sets, ngoma, hosho, key boards, guitars and marimba,” pleaded Jamanda.
At the Roman Catholic Church cathedral, this publication caught up with Brightmore, Tyson, Charles and Chapamba; homeless children who are being trained there.
The children said they see a future for themselves in the music industry if they get the necessary mentorship.
Takundanashe and Tapiwanashe Zendakwaye have also volunteered to play mbira to children living on the streets as a way of motivating them.entertainment

Dokora, who really do you think you are?

0

Nxaa, Mapombi doubts if this man is really a Doctor (PhD) at all. I mean this Dofora guy – is it Dofora or Dokora? Whatever!
This guy is really a joke. In fact, twumadegree twekuCuba tukazobatanidzwa nemaPhD epaUZ ema three months aya disaster yega yega. Ehezve ko ndiye who was part of ana Dr Amai who graduated from UZ gore riye. Hehehehe seka zvako Mapombi makamboiona kupi thesis ingaitwa ne3 months? Chero kuHonours degeree hakuna zvakadaro.
Mapombi has since made a bold decision that he is going to enroll with UZ for a doctorate, just give me 3 months and I will be Dr Mapombi. Mungandidini? Hapana. Kkkkk but Zanu PF yachepesa education vakomana. Almost everyone is now a doctor (PhD) in Zanu PF; kkkkk nemaGrade 2 dropout wo ava madoctor. Ko chipaiwo henyuzve Nhenjana ko ndiye wadii?
Pamberi naDr Nhenjana, Pambili loDr Chadzamira, loDr Mapombi kkkk gore rino. Anyway, Dr Dokora is not so wise – in fact he is a dictator but his dictatorial tendencies have no room in modern Zimbabwe. How can he impose everything on our children without consulting the parents? Bva vana vacho vatova vako hakozve iwe?
By the way, how many children do you have Dr Dokora? I mean mune vana vangani vanonziwo vana venyu or vamunopomerwa kuti ndevenyu? I doubt if this not so intelligent minister has any children because hunhu hwacho hausi hwababa uhwu – bvunza ini Mapombi ndinoziva kurwadza kwemimba and I will tell you kuti hakuna mubereki anoita zvaunoita iwe.
Anyway, Mapombi will do a research to find out kuti blazo uyu akamira sei besides kuva muchawa. Mapombi has nothing against Dokora’s religious beliefs but to impose his beliefs kuvana vedu manje haaa nyarawo shamwari. In fact, waguta kunyarwa.
And one would wonder why President Mugabe left him when he chased away all other Gamatoxes dai zvakadzingwa zvakasenda kuZimbabwe People Fired ikoko. Kkkkk pamwe zvingadaro futi zvakatodzingwa futi naJoy sezvakaitwa vana Gumbo, Mutasa naBhasikiti. Kkkkk you will be very unlucky to be fired by someone who was also fired kkkkk. Politics idzi hameno gore rino tichaonesa zvedu.
Cde Dzikamai Mavhaire how are you? By the way you are no longer in Zanu PF so we have stripped off the title ‘Cde’ tava kuti Mr Mavhaire kwaaaaa. Did you hear that Marujata is back nhai Mavhaire? And she has lined up a number of rallies across the country. Obviously, she will come to Mwenezi East kuzopa vanhu hembe dzemubhero as part of campaigns.
Mapombi smells a rat though. Dr Amai havangoite marally zvenhando. Let us pray that there is no one who is on the firing line. Hopefully it’s not VP Emmerson Mnangagwa. Because vari kumuda kwete zvekutamba – but be warned; if the crocodile goes under the water it does not mean its dead but it’s under cover. Mukaita zvekutamba munorumwa mukapera mese! But Ngwena yachowo haaaa-aa hapana zviripowo futi.
Anyway, can someone tell Dokora kuti waguta kunyarwa? Yes, please tell him. To hell with your national pledge. To hell with your mathematics in Shona; to hell with your imposed new curriculum. To hell with your Arabs who want to fund the development of our satellite schools. Zimbabwe is a Christian nation so stop imposing your Muslim on our children.
If it’s all about the Arabs’ money, please tell them to keep their monies and we will keep our values – unokundwa naMugabe wakaita seiko nhai Dokora? Mugabe told Blair in the face that keep your England and I will keep my Zimbabwe! Period!
Don’t behave like a prostitute Cde Dokora. A prostitute hardly denies money. But President Mugabe should have fired this once gamatox minister kudharadhara mhani.
Mapombi has no problem with your long beard, not all. Neither does she have any problem with your church, but kuda kuita sekuti vana vedu ndevako ipapo chete ndopatinoburana. Tidzikamirei Cde!
Anyway, Mapombi heard Gushungo (G40) has bounced back with a bang in the province, with Amasa Nhenjana now being recognised as the acting provincial chair for Masvingo province. Mapombi heard Tyson and Whitehead (Chombo) reversed or should I say blocked Chadzamira’s ascendency? Kkkkk Zanu PF so ka! Kana zvakadaro politics dzacho itai mega mozotiudza kuti ndiyani ahwina isu regai tidye some rotten bananas here at Dr Grace Mugabe Trading Centre.
But each time I mention this Dr Grace Mugabe Trading Centre’s name my heart bleeds kuti how can people name such a filthy place after the First Lady? Honestly, a person like Dr Amai who wears a $1.4m diamond ring being associated with a place isina kana pekurasira marara?
It’s almost lunch time guys let me go ndindozvikangira hangu maputi angu for lunch. But I heard this guy who is always in the wrong basket is ready to face Zanu PF in Mwenezi East by-elections. Hehehehe kunokamwa imbwa nhaka – handei tione!
Bhasikiti might be in the right basket this time around, who knows? Mapombi heard MDC-T structures in Mwenezi East have already declared public their intention to support him.
Mind you Jealousy Mawarire said they will go pound for pound in Mwenezi East and also said if Zanu PF gives rice they will also give maize. So it will be a 50-50 situation.
Mapombi heard Tsvangirai and Mujuru were in town over the weekend –  ko vangaenda kupi Masvingo ndoine yeseka. Masvingo is the game changer. Even Mapenzi akangwara saana Mapombi are only found in Masvingo and not in any other towns. Even factions are strong here in Masvingo and not anywhere else. Chero vakadzi vakanaka vanowanika kuno kuMasvingo than any other towns kkkkkk. Hamutione here isu vana Mapombi kuti tiri tsvarakadenga kuzongokanganiswa netsvina chete kwaaaaa!
Anyway guys let me go ndindokanga maputi angu for lunch. But before I go help me to sing for Gushungo. Happy Birthday to you; Happy Birthday to you Gushungo happy birthday to you. How old are you now? How old are you now? Kkkkkkkk did I hear someone saying 100? Itai mushe he is only 93 and vari kutonzwa masimba ekupinda muzana kunge munhu uya ari kumhanya race. Gushungu tongai vanhu. Mboko imboko!mapombi

The story of Ndarama High School’s unending glory

0

Ndarama High School head, Shirley Makausi

TellZim Reporter

18 Feb 2017 – Like a raging ocean tide, Ndarama High School is continuing on its course of astoundingly unstoppable rise, this time emerging mightier with an impressive 76.25 percent overall pass rate in the 2016 Zimsec ‘O’ Level examinations.
The government school has gradually but consistently nurtured its own unique identity of striving to beat its previous best and has distinguished itself among many, a character which has won it unparalleled awe among all government schools in the province.
The latest achievement means the school’s pass rate has grown by 8.75 percentage points from its 2015 best, a remarkable feat for a day school that uses the hot-sitting system to accommodate its many pupils.
Last year, 240 pupils sat for the 2016 ‘O’ Level exams at the school and a total of 45 pupils managed to obtained five As and above.
The best performing pupil, Praise T. Sombi got a whopping 12 As after having sat for 12 subjects, an extra ‘A’ ahead of previous record of 11 As.
On second position is Phillip Muzenda who got 11 As and one B, followed by four other star pupils; Shingai L. Sabata, Tafadzwa B.  Mabeza, Lawine Chiradza and Anesu Mavhima who all bagged 10 As and one B.
The critical STEM subjects; Maths, Physical Science and Biology were overwhelmingly passed while computers studies recorded a clean 100 percent pass rate. Technical graphics was passed by 66.7 percent.
Ndarama High School head, Shirley Makausi said the school will stop at nothing in its quest to mould the best out of all children who show faith in the school.
“We are pleased by this latest achievement, but we are equally aware that this is definitely not the absolute best that we can become. With the kind of hard work and an unbeatable team spirit that we enjoy here, we can always surpass all expectations,” Makausi said.
She said she was particularly delighted that girls are increasingly proving their mettle at the school, with three of the four pupils who each got 10 As and one B being girls.
“We are a government school and we fully subscribe to the wider agenda of the advancement of the girl child through education as a way of beating poverty in the long term,” said Makausi.
Deputy head, Lawrence Mukawu said the latest results, and all others in the past, are reflective of the dedication and hard work of teachers and all staff members against the odds.
“Our results have shown a consistent improvement, thanks to the collective efforts of our teachers and every staff member who did their part to make this happen. We are happy not only because the number of pupils who passed has increased, but also because the quality of the results has greatly improved. We believe in excellence,” said Mukawu.
Despite the biting economic conditions prevailing in the country, the school is continuing to mobilise resources by working with parents and other stakeholders to build a state-of-the-art ‘A’ Level science laboratory block as part of efforts to upgrade science learning at the school.
Ndarama High School’s hot seating system currently has two batches of pupils attending school; those who come in the morning and leave after midday to accommodate the afternoon classes.
The school, however, has hopes of expanding the school by building new structures so as to accommodate more pupils and give them more study time without lowering standards.
Built in 1984 as part of the government’s drive to bring affordable quality education to the vast majority of the people, Ndarama High school has steadily risen as one of the best day schools in the country with quality structures and squeaky clean surroundings.education

Speaking to TellZim News, Pastor Jinjika applauded the hard work and unity shown by the congregation in the journey to the purchase of the truck.
“When I first came here, I saw that the people of the assembly loved the Lord and they had unlimited potential to do great things despite the fact that they are from a rural set up.
“I would like to thank the vibrant leadership that we have at our assembly and every member of the congregation for all their contributions. I just pray that God will bless them abundantly because they are a wonderful church,” said an elated Pastor Jinjika.

17 Feb 2017 – MWENEZI – A critically ill 27-year-old Mwenezi man, who has been battling for his life at Neshuro District Hospital for months after he was injured in a freak accident while offloading cement from a truck, has pleaded with well-wishers to help her meet the treatment costs.
Phineas Chauke of Mukahamari village, Chief Neshuro, was discharged from hospital for home-based care last Monday, although he had indicated a few days earlier that he would prefer to stay in hospital as his condition was still dire.He said home-based care was not ideal as he could not afford the medication and to pay the person who will professionally administer the medicine.
Chauke sustained spinal injuries after the door of the truck’s side trailer hit him below the chest while doing a piece job offloading cement at Chingwanga hardware at Neshuro growth point some months ago.
While trying to open the truck load, Chauke was hit by the side door of the truck whose load was reportedly some more than 600 bags of cement.
He fell down and some bags of cement fell on top of him.
He was initially transferred from Neshuro hospital to Masvingo General Hospital from where he was again referred to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) and later on to Parerenyatwa Hospital where he underwent surgery and discharged.
His condition has however deteriorated of late and he has developed deep sores on his backside and legs.local

Four candidates to contest for Mwenezi East

NCA candidate Welcome Masuku

Moses Ziyambi

17 Feb 2017 – MASVINGO – Four candidates successfully filed their papers with the nomination court which sat at the Masvingo Magistrates Court this afternoon to contest in the Mwenezi East parliamentary by-election scheduled for April 8.
The four candidates are Joosbi Omar of Zanu PF, Kudakwashe Bhasikiti of ZimPF, Welcome Masuku of National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) and Mango Turner of Free Zimbabwe Congress.
Speaking to TellZim News after the close of the nomination court, Omar said he was confident of winning the seat so that he can coordinate development in the area.
“I am very confident of our chances as Zanu PF because there is no competition for us. There are a lot of projects in stock for the people of Mwenezi East. I am a developer so I want to implement a lot of programmes in line with ZimAsset,” said Omar.
Bhasikiti also exuded confidence at the close of the nomination court, saying the people of Mwenezi were ready for an alternative to Zanu PF.
“We will win the seat because people are tired of the failed policies of the ruling party. The Zimbabwe People First is the only alternative for the people of Mwenezi who are tired of being lied to,” said Bhasikiti.
This publication also managed to speak to Masuku who said the NCA presented a chance for the people of Mwenezi East to vote for a candidate who cares for the people.
“We are very confident of our chances in Mwenezi East. We have held some meetings with the people there and have listened to their concerns. People want good leadership because they know Zanu PF has created all the problems that the people face. The people cannot vote for thieves, only the NCA will deliver on its promises,” said Masuku.
He also indicated the party was doing well considering that it was only formed in 2013 saying it would build upon its performance in last month’s Bikita West by-election where it got 343 votes.politics

‘Zinara tender corruption responsible for road mess’

0

Beatific Gumbwanda

17 Feb 2017 – CHIREDZI – Chiredzi Residents and Ratepayers Association (CHIRRA) has attributed tender corruption by the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) to the appalling state of some roads in Chiredzi, saying undeserving companies were being given tenders.
This follows the deterioration of Chiredzi’s Lion Drive barely two months after it was commissioned.
Lion Drive was surfaced by a company known as Clime Construction on behalf of Zinara but the road has disintegrated spectacularly and it now looks worse than roads that have been there for 50 years and more.
CHIRRA chairperson, Jonathan Muusha Mupamombe said the public was being deprived of their right to proper services because of official corruption in high places.
“We blame Zinara for this mess. Their corrupt tender system has benefited a few individuals at huge expense to the rate-paying public.
“Zinara told us that they haven’t paid Clime Construction in full so to make peace residents, Clime Construction must fully reconstruct the road at their own expense and they must do a proper job this time,” said Mupamombe.
Clime Construction is reportedly owned by Munyaradzi Harovi, a Masvingo-based business man who has been nicknamed ‘Bvura-Bvura’ – a satirical moniker for a shoddy way of carrying out tasks.
After the Lion Drive debacle became apparent in January, council condemned the road and it was said the company did not have a solid track record in civil engineering, but had won the tender nonetheless.
“I have condemned Lion Drive because it was not done well as potholes have developed. I have since informed Zinara of the present situation and we are no longer going to pay Clime Construction of their balance because they are supposed to reconstruct it,” Chiredzi Town Council chairperson, Francis Moyo told TellZim News then.
The Lion Drive project was finished way behind schedule and after a public outcry from stakeholders.
When contacted for comment, Munyaradzi ‘Bvura-Bvura’ Harovi accused this publication of publishing falsehoods.
“There is nothing I can tell you. Why didn’t you consult with me first? Write what you want there with your councillors I don’t mind,” Harovi said.local

LACEP helping hand reaches Mwenezi

17 Feb 2017 – MWENEZI – The Local Authority Capacity Enhancement Project (LACEP), an organisation funded by the European Union (EU), has channelled funds to the Mwenezi Rural District Council (MRDC) to cater for solid waste management.
The organisation released the funding for the improvement of rubbish disposal at Rutenga and Neshuro growth points as well as the installation of bins in other areas as part of its drive to reduce littering and maintain healthy surroundings.
LACEP project coordinator, Philip Kundishora said the programme to support environmental cleanliness as well as help rural and urban councils to better manage the environment would continue up until midyear.
“We have projects with 13 councils in the country; five in urban councils and eight in rural councils. In Masvingo province, our focus is Mwenezi RDC, Bikita RDC and Chiredzi.
“In these councils, authorities identify an area where they feel there is a gap, and then LACEP chips in with the assistance. As for Mwenezi RDC, they have decided to focus on solid waste management,” said Kundishora.
MRDC executive officer for Agriculture and the Environment, Kudzai Sirewu expressed gratitude to LACEP and said the council was going on a clean-up campaign in the district.
“We received funds from LACEP late last year and we have already embarked on a number of programmes like community sensitisation. We will also have a four-hour clean-up campaign at Neshuro growth point on 22 February and another four-hour cleaning of Rutenga on 15 March 2017.
“In other parts of the district where the clean-up may not reach, we intend to establish bins. All the stakeholders have already been engaged,” said Sirewu.
Sirewu said a temporary shut-down of businesses during the clean-up campaigns was expected so as to make sure that everyone participates.
MRDC is also looking for more funding to make sure that no part of the district will be left out.local
