19 Feb 2017 – CHIREDZI – Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) technical director, Taurai Mangwiro will be taking the hot seat at Triangle United as the new coach and has already resigned from ZIFA so as to lead the Team, TellZim News has learnt.
Mangwiro told this publication that there is an element of truth on the talk of his move to Gibbo although he said the matter is not yet official.
He however confirmed that he had already resigned from ZIFA in preparation of his new job.
“I cannot actually confirm about the developments because it is yet to be made official, but there is an element of truth. I have resigned from ZIFA preparing for the post at Triangle United,” said Mangwiro.
After ending their marriage to David ‘Yogi’ Mandigora just after one year, Triangle United have had a torrid time finding a suitable successor, with at least two coaches said to have turned down offers from the club.
They include Sunday ‘Mhofu’ Chidzambwa who is now with ZPC Kariba and Egyptian Mohammed Fathy, who is plying his career in Zambia.
If all goes well, Mangwiro is scheduled to take over mentorship of the team before the season kicks off on April 1 and once all technicalities have been taken care of.
Recently, Captain Ronald Mudimu and his vice Lameck Nhamo were spotted in charge of the pre-season training at Gibbo stadium as the club scouted for a coach.
Efforts to reach club chairperson Lovemore Matikinyidze were fruitless by the time of going to print.sport
