Chivhu grandpa rapes niece

CHIVHU – Seventy-year-old Nobert Mudyawabikwa from Gamanya village, Chief Nyoka, Featherstone is alleged to have eased his sexual desire on his 13-year-old niece and he recently appeared before Chivhu magistrate Fadzai Mtombeni facing rape charges.
Mudyawabikwa denied the charges levelled against him.
The State, led by Nicholas Mabvongodze, stated that in November 2016 around 14: 00 hrs he called the minor into his bedroom.
Upon entering the bedroom, the accused ordered the complainant to lie down on an empty sack, undressed and raped her while closing her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
He later on threatened to kill her if should she divulge the matter to anyone.
In August 2017, the complainant divulged all the details to her friend’s mother who had noticed that she was not happy.
The woman and her husband took the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the accused. The case was set to continue in the Chivhu Magistrate Courts by the time of going to the press.local
