Leo Kanyimo (38) of Woodlands, Gweru, who killed his wife and two kids in cold blood on November 2, 2021 collapsed and died in the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) holding cell at the Gweru Magistrates’ Courts on November 4, two days after the gruesome incident.

A close source said police who attended the scene observed that Kanyimo had stitched deep cuts in his head, which he sustained as he resisted apprehension by the community on the day he was arrested, soon after killing his wife and children.

One of the eye witnesses to the incident said community members resorted to hit now deceased with stones after realizing that he was attacking anyone who tried to apprehend him as he dangled his baby in the middle of the road before finishing her off with a log he was holding.

Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector, Emmanuel Mahoko however said he could not comment on the issue as it was being handled at the national office.
