MASVINGO – Embattled Zanu PF Masvingo provincial political commissar Jeppy Jaboon, who was slapped with a five year suspension over insubordination charges by the provincial executive in May this year, has been exonerated by national commissar Saviour Kasukuwere who said the suspension does not hold water.
Jaboon is allegedly linked to a Zanu PF faction G40 which opposes Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa succeeding President Robert Mugabe.
When Ezra Chadzamira, an alleged Lacoste minion, took over as the chairperson of the province after defeating his rival and G40 sympathiser Mutero Masanganise, the axe first fell on Jaboon while other G40 members were put on notice.
Jaboon openly defied his suspension saying the people who fired him had no power to do so and he kept on doing his duties.
Kasukuwere told TellZim News that no one has been suspended in Masvingo and all was in order.
“We are not suspending anyone in Masvingo and no one has been suspended. As far as I am concerned, Jaboon is still the provincial commissar and not otherwise.
“If the provincial executive suspended him (Jaboon) then they should have communicated through the proper party channels and there has been no such communication,” said Kasukuwere.
He said the party was not out to unite people together and not create unnecessary divisions by suspending someone because of certain differences.
“We are going for an election and now is not the right time to divide the party. We should be working towards uniting our people so that we will win resoundingly in 2018,” said Kasukuwere.
The Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting which saw the suspension of Jaboon was chaired by Chadzamira, the late minster of state Shuvai Mahofa, Ailes Baloyi among other Lacoste minions who admitted that Jaboon was a hard worker but had gone astray.topnews
