Macheso buys 30 stands for band members

MASVINGO – Alick Macheso, the Ochestra Mberikwazvo front man and King of Sungura has acquired 30 residential stands for his band members.
This was leant during Macheso’s show at Ritz Gardens on Saturday evening when Selemani Mphochi, popularly known as Majuice, who is Macheso’s stage king dancer, revealed his boss’ big heart during the show.
Macheso added that all his band members, from the biggest band member to a mere doorman have benefited 600m2 stands from this project. He encouraged them to save and develop the stands.
Majuice later told TellZim News that they were happy that Macheso had bought a 600 square metre residential stand in Kuwadzana for every band member including doormen.
The show at The Ritz also featured Soul Jah Love of the ‘Chibaba’ fame who warmed the stage with his hit songs sending the crowd haywire. Dai Upenyu hwaitengwa, Mafans angu, Go back to sender, Mwana waStembeni, Gum Kum, Pamamonya ipapo among others were some of the songs which raved the crowd’s excitement.
Chibaba promised to come back to Masvingo soon after they are done with their international schedule. He described Masvingo people as happy people who enjoy his music.
Apart from the chikopokopo sound, Macheso introduced another scorcher as he imitate a haulage truck’s engine brake change down sound and the pressure release sound that it make after stopping.
Prodigal chanter Jonas Kasamba introduced the “bata chihuta” dance, with Kariba, the former Madzibaba dancer, also showing what he is made of on the dance floor.
Devine Wezhira, was on lead guitar, Mikoro and Sekuru Poto Njere on rhythm guitars.
Roy Gwese, The Ritz manager expressed gratitude to the fans who thronged the gardens and promised more sizzling shows.entertainment
