Pamushana High wins Orate African Quiz provincial competitions

MASVINGO- Pamushana High School recently emerged the Orate African Quiz champions and Book of African Records champions at the competitions held at Victoria High School.
The quiz competition saw 14 schools participate and Pamushana High School won with 105 points, followed by Ndarama High School with 99 points, Serima High School had two teams A and B that obtained 87and 88 respectively and Victoria High School obtained 87 points.
Hippo Valley High School had 78 points while Sandon Academy, Masvingo Christian College, Mwenezi Government High School, Gutu High School obtain 75, 63, 60 and 50 points respectively.
It is from this tournament that the school automatically qualified to participate in competitions to be held in Dar es Salam in Tanzania sometime in April this year.
Image result for Poetry slam picIn Tanzania, the competition will be hosted by Feza International School and 13 countries are expected to participate including Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania and Uganda.
“The competition has become tougher and tougher in the province but my boys have proved to be indomitable considering a string of victories they have scored. They have stuck to our school motto; Stoop to Conquer,” said Pamushana High School team coach, Daniel Shatei.
