Musician Andy Muridzo has warned Joseph Musengi from Jaytronic Entertainment whom he accused of purporting to be his promoter, to stop tarnishing his image.
Muridzo and the Jeetaz band were expected to perform at the recent Masvingo Agricultural Show after party but they did not show up after it emerged there was no agreement to that effect between the band and the promoters.
The band leader expressed dissatisfaction towards Musengi for using the band’s name to lure fans and sell tickets without any agreement with the band.
Speaking on behalf of Andy Muridzo, Jeetaz manager Gift Peturo said he was disappointed by Musengi.
“They called us to consider them and promised to call us again to negotiate payment before printing posters but sadly, I heard they were already selling tickets and advertising using our name. We are taking them to court for inconveniences and damages caused,” said Peturo.
When contacted Musengi, denied being a fraudster and said he had been arrested on the day in question.
“I am not a fraudster but was arrested by members of the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) because they did not understand the event,” said Musengi.
Efforts to get further comments from him were fruitless as he went on to switch off his phone.
A CIO member however denied ever apprehending anyone concerning entertainment issues.
“We don’t know that person and we never, at any given time, apprehended him or anyone concerning that show. His claims are mischievous and damaging on the image of our organisation and we have developed an interest in his activities,” he said.
Angry fans who had bought advanced tickets expressed anger on the presumed promoters.
“I am very disappointed with their behavior. We bought tickets but Andy didn’t come. I advise him to be careful with these promoters and he should make sure they are dealt with,” said one angry fan.entertainment
