…scoops award after two months

Itai Muzondo in Gweru

GWERU – TellZim News, the fastest growing private community newspaper in the southern region, has already made an impact in Gweru barely two months after hitting the streets of the Midlands capital by winning an award for being an outstanding partner supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the province.
The award was presented at the Midlands Region SME Awards Dinner at Village Lodge last week.
TellZim News was the first runner-up in the SME Media Supporters category with Gweru’s Sun newspaper coming first while The Mirror was the second runner-up.
The award was sponsored by the Zimbabwe Chamber of Small to Medium Enterprises (ZCSME).
TellZim News editor, Passmore Kuzipa said it was an honour to receive the award as it showed that the newspaper was committed to the growth of small indigenous businesses in the southern region of the country.
“We are humbled to receive the award and we take pride in receiving accolades which point to our efforts of supporting small and medium business development. We take pride in making positive change to the community we operate in. This comes as a confirmation that we are following our commitment to community empowerment through amplifying ordinary people’s voices in Zimbabwe.
“We are there to give businesses and individuals an opportunity to tell their own stories,” said Kuzipa.local
