All roads lead to Masvingo Golf Club this Saturday where the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Masvingo province has organised a golf tournament in support of the Commissioner General’s Good Will Trust Fund.
The tournament will be graced by ZPCS Commissioner General Rtd Mjr Gen Paradzai W. Zimondi who will be a player as well as the Guest of Honour, and ZPCS Deputy Commissioner General MCN Chihobvu who will also be a player.
In an interview, ZPCS Masvingo Provincial Commander Acting Ass Com Social Ndanga said they were pleased with the response of stakeholders.
“We are happy with the support given to our efforts to contribute to the Commissioner General Good Will Trust Fund as part of our collective social responsibility programme. We would like to thank all staking keholders who are supporting us; corporate partners, churches, individuals and members of ZPCS who are all contributing in one way or the other,” said Acting Ass Com Ndanga.
Organisations that are supporting the event include Bikita Minerals, Nyaradzo, Regency Hotels, EMRAS, FBC Bank, FMC and Doves.
The trust fund dates back to 2011 when realisations were made regarding the gaps in the charitable needs of vulnerable groups. The fund has so far paid school fees for around 345 orphans and has assisted 110 widows with agricultural inputs.
In addition, child-headed families are being given food hampers courtesy of the fund while the Albino Association has also received donations in the form of sunscreen lotions.
ZPCS Masvingo golf club captain Assistant Principal Correctional Officer (APCO) Tapiwa Madhara encouraged members of the public to come and enjoy the activities of the day.
“It will not be all about golf, there are many activities lined up for everybody including a performance by the ZPCS brass band. Everybody is welcome to enjoy themselves.
The call was echoed by ZPCS Masvingo Public relations/Marketing Officer, Correctional Officer Grade 1 (CO1) Nevson Tagarira.
“The band will be belting out sweet melodies. We encourage people to some in their numbers and enjoy our hospitality while supporting the Commissioner Good Will Trust Fund,” said CO1 Tagarira.sport
