Mnangagwa worst President, won’t stand chance – Kasukuwere

…he has failed on his own promises
…4ED groups undermining elected leadership

Brighton Chiseva

MASVINGO – Just like what the then fugitive and now President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa did in 2017, exiled former Zanu PF heavy weight Savior Tyson Kasukuwere has penned a letter to Zimbabweans declaring his ambitions to run for presidency in the August 23 harmonized elections, saying the incubent is the worst President in the history of Zimbabwe.
In the letter, Tyson, as Kasukuwere was fondly known as in Zanu PF during his heydays, said Mnangagwa was not supposed to be allowed to run for any leadership position because he destoryed the country.
“The question for the party is whether Cde Mnangagwa must be allowed to fail for another five years at the expense of the people of Zimbabwe? The country cannot afford another five years of toxic political differences, a failed economy, and social strife. It is time to settle this by throwing this matter back to the people through this election for them to make a choice between fear and hope” reads the letter.
He said his decision to run for presidency was premised on people’s calls for him to come and represent them.
“I humbly write to you on the eve of the sitting of the nomination court to inform you that I have considered your plea for my return home to participate in our 2023 electoral processes. I accept the call to run for Office of President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
He said he was running as an independent candidate and the decision was necessitated by two opportunities that were missed in the 2017 and 2022 congresses.
“My decision to stand as independent, as painful as it is, arises out of two missed opportunities. Both in December 2017 and September 2022, our party congress failed to allow fair competition for the Presidency. As a result, it failed to unite the, membership, forgive the past and reconcile for the future of our glorious revolution.
Unfortunately, to this day, notwithstanding a promise to let bygones be bygones, post-November 2017 and a pledge to “restore the legacy” and values of our liberation movement, we continue to witness exclusionary politics; persecution of members who loyally served the people, the party, the government, and the late founding President, Cde Robert Gabriel Mugabe,” reads part of the letter
The letter further says Mnangwangwa could not and will not win any leadership post in a free and fair process and said he has failed in all his post November 2017 promises.
“Our position was and remains clear, that without intimidation, and abuse of state institutions, Cde Mnangagwa could never have won and cannot win any leadership position in a fair and open political process,”
“Post-November 2017, together, we all gave the “new dispensation” leadership space to govern and to make responsible decisions in uniting the party and the country. In his 2018 campaign, Cde Mnangagwa promised to deliver health care for all, electricity, he promised the youth jobs, he promised educational reforms; he promised modern railway system; he promised to mechanise, modernise and grow the economy; he promised to conduct social and security reforms that predicate our international reengagement needs. On all counts, he has failed on his own promises,” reads part of the letter.
Kasukuwere accused the ForED organizations of wielding more power than the Zanu PF party structures and undermined elected party leaders and said Mnangagwa should allow people to choose between the past and the future.
“The leaders of these dodgy “for ED” groups have unlimited access to Cde Mnangagwa and unlimited resources while the party structures remain unfunded. You have witnessed these developments; you have seen the photographs of their flamboyant lives and association with Cde Mnangagwa and you have not been allowed to openly question these shenanigans,”
“We need to renew politics in our country, reassert and give back power to the people. Cde Mnangagwa must give the party a chance to choose between the future and the past, between hope and fear,” reads the letter.
He further castigated Mnangagwa and his family saying they had taken over imports, distribution, and sale of fuel are involved in almost all the multi-billion-dollar Belarus deals.
Kasukuwere accused Mnangagwa of reversing the gains of the indigenization policy and the land reform programme.

Welcome back Tyson

When you think you have seen it all, think that the only affiliate organization left is Mapombi 4ED though it will never come, then boom, Independent Candidates 4ED kkkk ini zvangu ini. Hanzisati ndamboona matakanana akadai, in Gogo Mahofa’s voice kkk. I miss that iron lady, she is the only one who openly challenged Mugabe ndakatarisa kwete zvana Mavhaire who always brag that they could challenge Mugabe. Nhaiwe Mavhaire, you challenged Mugabe zvikazodii. Gogo Mahofa told Mugabe point blank that Masvingo was not going to contribute even a one year old calf to Mugabe who had pledged 100 beats to the African Union and went on to order all provinces to submit 10. Chaiva chakaipa Chikoforo, MHSRIP. She said Mugabe was surrounded by thieves and went on to say Mugabe had failed the army should take over, I know you know what happened on November 17, can’t remember the year but I am sure mese muri kuiziva nyaya yacho. Ok, yeah back to Mutonho’s issue, yes he introduced the Independent candidates for ED, I am sure Maboke and company would have somewhere to join, coz kuita independent haa hakunyatsoita asks Vharazipi, hanzi it means hauna masoja, hauna mapurisa kkk. Apa I heard Mutonho and company all refused to join Kasukuwere kkkk. Allow me to talk about Tyson a bit before Mutonho
Yes I heard the mighty Tyson is a cat among pigeons, ibararamhanywa in Zanu PF kkk. Lets welcome him back, Welcome back Cde Kasukuwere. At least he now sees how bad the system he was part of is. I heard the boys have been beefed up at all point of entries in case he might sneak in the country. We are waiting for you the Mighty Saviour. Come and Serve the people of Zimbabwe kkk. let me assure you ladies and gentlemen, Kasukuwere will only be voted for by those who have been on the rope, ukaona Mutonho naMaboke with how they were disgruntled by their parties vachiramba kujoina it means chakaora. ; This is what Chadzamira was supposed to call Chafa Chisati Chatanga not Chamisa Chete Chete. As long as Tyson I wearing the Zanu Pf tagline, people will never be fooled twice like in 2018 and 18. Any association with Zanu PF means hapana change, ask me. Zanu PF is a strait jacket, you cannot transform it, it’s either you are in or out, simple. So please imi maDisgruntled Zanu go and support Kasukuwere wenyu isu hatiuyeko, ah handiuyeko, heard vamwe vari kuenda kkkk. However, ignore Tyson at your own peril, ini handipo. Remember ladies Tyson was the political commissar and his structures are still in place in Zanu PF, he may pull a shocker.
Ladies and gentlemen, I am sure you all saw how disorganized the Chamisa Chete Chete party is didn’t you? Double candidates, failure to field candidates in there wards and constituencies kkkk and a whole lot of independent candidates. Haa ini zvangu zvinondisembura. Gossip passing through Chitima market is Zanu PF has already bagged more than 50 wards and some constituencies, who are you going to blame manje kana zvadai? FAZ? Kkkk iyo yakabatana nacho, I wonder what the hell that organization, chimbori chii chaizvp is, I heard it’s Forever what, so does it mean Zanu will rule forever? Haa no mhani. On a serious note, political parties should not blame their failure on others. CCC kungodai hee Zanu PF infiltration, hee FAZ, ukuwo Zanu PF failing to manage the economy hanzi Chamisa akadira jecha, hee Biti called for sanctions, nxaa zvipere
Speaking of Tendai Biti, I heard more condolences, more cries about Biti’s loss and a few or no congrats to the winner in CCC. Imi Biti was good in parliament no doubt about that but he is not the only one capable, we have a lot of capable people in Zimbabwe who can take the government to task who do not have a chance to get to parliament because of the I know it all mentality. Mapombi is one of them, I see I can be a good parliamentary candidate because handivanze, I won’t be affected ne whipping system. But parliament ichabowa iyi, no Chinoz, no Biti mmm, dai makatora anaChibaya henyu ndovamwe vagarisawo. But I once told you kuti mukomaana ari kugadzira chinhu chake mukati hee Mapombi watanga now look.
I hear there are many angry Cdes kuCCC uko, yes it happens accept the outcome and move on with life, after all its representational, you can’t be angry for not being called to represent the country. Hanzi nemukomana all those who are angry with the process were after squandering state resources kkkk. Hanzi kuda kuchachura mugapu renyika kkkk, dai kutaura zviri funny kuriko kutonga Nyika, Chamisa would be president for life. I once heard that great talkers and orators are dictators, talk of Mugabe, talk of Hitler jus to mention a few kkkk. But it’s not always the case, dzedu idzi hadzigone kutaura and is also one of the worst dictators. In Africa we had and we still have maDictator manyama. Talk of Kagame, Magufuli, Gaddaffi, the economies are flouring even though they are dictators. That is what we want as Zimbabweans. Tine nzara chete nothing else, zvekuti hee maHuman rights hee what what, it’s just talk but what we want is food on the table, we need better roads, medication in clinics, and of cause to do away with corruption then lastly sanctions.
Enough of cheap politics, the government should just give this Razar Guy a farm, yes mupei munda mukomana, chero wenzimbe zvawo. At least we now have somewhere to put our focus on in as far as sports is concerned, zveSoccer chaizvo as a country hazvisi zvedu. Iyo nyaya yeZifa neERC iya yakazodiiko. Where is this clown Kamambo? Since Captain Fiasco was beaten in the Zanu Primaries, I know he won’t go independent saka he should rekindle his romance with Zifa. Yes when Fidza was at the helm zvinhu zvaitofamba. I think pama technocrats paya they should just be 6 then topa fidza ministry of sport, I think Kitsi was just good at swimming and nothing else, iko aiti kana apinda muduhwino aiita kunge asvikirwa neshave rambuya nehanda.
Speaking of Mbuya Nehanda, our spirit medium seem not to be happy with the bond note how can she let the money lose value like that ivo varipo zvavo, maybe dai vakangoisa vese nasekuru kaguvi pamwe his masculinity would help give weight to the Zim Dora kkk. Kana zvanetsa isai vese nana Lobengula nana Chaminuka ipo pamari yedu iite power. We can’t continue using US and Rand when we have our kkkk. Inga vana Washington Jefferson, Lincoln and Hamilton are on their notes and they still have power, not forgetting about Mandela who died recently apa. Pane akatsamwisa midzimu yenyika chete, I think it’s the November issue, mwedzi waMbudzi unoera veduwee. Hezvo vana Muzorewa vaakudawo kuita mapresidents kkk. But where are these people getting the 20ks for nomination? I now believe that most of them are Zanu projects. But of late I have heard whispers that Chamisa could be the Genarari’s project, kombonzi ndewa Trabablas and Tyson is the Genarari’s real project so ahh hameno but what I can tell you is kumagumo kune nyaya.
Anyway, before I go kunokanga hangu maputi angu for lunch, I heard Ndabaningi Sithole was conferred national hero at last and everyone is going to Chipinge for the launch of the manifesto. Vakati regai titange tafadza vadzimu tisati taenda kkkk. Before I go, if anyone manages to go to South Africa and meet this lady who interviewed Monica to stop it, how can she humiliate our minister like that, tell her that Zimbabwe is indeed a sovereign nation and we do as we please kkkk. Naiyewo Monica achinyanya, why did she go there, akadii kuita interview naReuben Barwe and his hwasikiti kkkk, nxaa Mboko Imboko!!!

Former Minister Madzorera climbs down to councillor

Tinaani Nyabereka

Kwekwe – Former Minister of Health and Child Care Minister, Dr Henry Madzorera has thrown his hat in the race for ward 10 in City Council in the August 23 harmonised elections
He is contesting on Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) ticket after successfully filing his nomination papers at Kwekwe Civic Centre on Wednesday.
Madzorera, who served as health minister during the Government of National Unit (GNU) and senator for Kwekwe under then MDC-T party, is highly regarded in the provincial party structures.
Speaking during an interview after his nomination Madzorera said he cherishes his nomination for the local authority seat saying being a councillor was more important job than being MP or Senator
“The reasons are behind the scenes, people think that from a senator to a councillor is a climb down but being a councillor is a much more important job than being an MP or a senator. People think being a senator is much of a job but the work is one the ground were issues are raised,” said Madzorera
He went on to say though the local authority was doing its best in providing service delivery especially in terms of water provision, if elected he will work with fellow councillors and management to make sure that they restore service provision to its hey days.
“Basically key issues I look forward to working on is the issue of water in Kwekwe, I want to make sure that we restore the city to its former glory in terms of water provision,” he said.
“We will look at the issue of roads because a number of roads are in a sorry state. I also want to make sure that we implement sound policies which improve service provision in kwekwe and my ward,” said Madzorera

CCC swiftly solves ward 2 double candidate impasse

Perpetua Murungweni

The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has swiftly managed to solve the double candidate saga for Masvingo West’s ward 2 which falls under Masvingo City Council after they successfully negotiated for Frank Chirairo’s withdrawal and pave way for Shantiel Chiwara.
This was confirmed at a press conference held today (June 23, 2023) just outside Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) offices in Masvingo where Chirairo had filed his withdrawal papers.
Speaking at the conference Chirairo confirmed that he filed his nomination papers on June 21 and also discovered that another candidate had also filed hers under the same party, however, after deliberations with party leaders, he decided to withdraw his candidature for the good of the party.
“I can confirm that on June 21 I filed my nomination papers that had been brought to me by the party officials and I then discovered that ward 2 Masvingo west constituency had also another candidate who had filed nomination papers. Investigations were made within the party and the party officials communicated with other members, resolved and ensured that the party has only one candidate that will remain on the ballot paper on the election easy.
“I am confirming that this morning here at ZEC Masvingo I filed the withdrawal of my nomination papers that I filed at the nomination court and I’m also confirming that Chitando has filed a withdrawal of charges against me at the police. Whatever was happening in the party I assure everyone that it has been resolved there was no forgery it was simply poor communication,” said Chirairo.
On his part Chitando who was the party signatory also confirmed that he had filed a fraud case when he found out that Chirairo had filed for ward 2 without his signature nor his core signatory..
“I was one of the party designated signatories to 2023 local government candidate party list I confirm that when I discovered that there are two candidates recorded for ward 2, this worried me and I then rushed to the police. Then after inspection of the papers I discovered that it was not my signature or Mai Chakabuda’ (The Core signatory)’s signature, we filed a fraud case against Chirairo, However we have amicably solved this issue. So we say to the people of ward 2 and our colleague Chirairo, let’s put the people of Zimbabwe first,” said Chitando.
The question that still remain is whether or not Chirairo had really forged signatures.
The remained bone of contention in ward 2 is that of Rocky Kamuzonda who was vying for the same ward who went on to contest as independent in protest over Chiwara’s candidature.

Children need love, attention

… As world celebrates day of the African child

Beverly Bizeki

As the world celebrates international day of the African Child which is commemorated on June 16 every year, a number of parents have said suicidal tendencies among children have become worrisome as the number of children committing suicide keeps increasing by the day.
Parents who spoke to TellZim news said this is largely due to pressure that children get through social media, family, backgrounds and mental health issues.
Kingdom Life Church International, Apostle Ngonidzashe Mutume said there is need for parents to look out for mental health issues in children and seek help for them instead of demonizing the condition.
“African parents usually tend to demonize suicidal tendencies in children and ignore mental health issues yet they need to be taken seriously. They need to have time with their children in order to be able to detect behavior changes on them and employ necessary professional assistance like counselling and therapy,” said Mutume.
Mutume said pressure from social media contributes to suicide on the young generation as most things they are not taught by their parents is found on social media.
“Social media is a contributor to some of the suicide cases among children as they can find most things they are not taught at home on social media. Most of the pressure our youths and adolescents are experiencing is found on social media like trying to fake a life,”
“We need to educate our children on the positive and negative impacts of social media as it can be a dangerous weapon to our youth if not handled properly. Parents need to monitor how children are using social media,” said Mutume.
Sungano Zvarebwanashe, a parent in Masvingo said suicidal tendencies among children of school going age is worrisome and is sometimes caused by peer pressure and the background of children.
“Some children experience pressure as they live in child headed families and the whole burden of looking after other family members is heavy to the extent of them giving up on life.
Other children have suicidal tendencies because they live without their parents and never got parental love which impacts them negatively. There is need for society to employ a collective approach in taking care of children despite which families they belong to,” Said Zvarebwanashe.
Another Masvingo parent Mary Mahofa said upbringing of children influence how they turn out to be as lack of parental love has a negative impact on them.
“Parents must to have a cordial relationship with their children so they can open up to their parents if they face challenges. Some children are orphans while some parents are unavailable to their children which results in children having pressure leading to suicide cases in children,” said Mahofa.
Recently a Vitoria High form three pupil committed suicide and details on reasons behind are still sketchy whilst another leaner from Vision academy in Masvingo committed suicide too recenlty.
This year the day was celebrated under the theme ‘the rights of the child in the digital environment.’

Period poverty: A tale of women with disablities

Beverly Bizeki

With statistics from the World Bank showing that about 500 million women and girls in the world are going through period poverty, women and girls living with disabilities are mostly affected by this mishap and are oftentimes pushed to the sharp edge of the stick.
This is one of the many challenges disabled Tracy Madhigi (24) from Chivi who cannot walk or move without the support of another person.
Tracy’s mother Lilian Joni (63) says sometimes when her daughter is on her menses she has no option but to use napkins which she wash herself.
“When I have no money for pampers or sanitary pads I use napkins which I change constantly and wash as it is sometimes hard to get the money for pads,” Joni.
Joni also laments the lack of a proper bathroom from which she can bath her daughter from as she has resorted to using a blanket outside her house despite harsh weather conditions and also the practice is dehumanizing for a young lady.
“My wish is to have a proper bathroom which is big enough to place a dish so that I can bathe her from there unlike outside where I spread a blanket despite that sometimes there are unfavorable weather conditions outside,” said Joni.
Madhigi is one of the children who are benefitting from the stimulation centre in Chivi which is implemented with support from Ministry of public Service Labour, Social Welfare in collaboration with UNICEF with funding from the Government of Sweden, Government of Norway (Norad) and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation working with implementing partner Zimbabwe Parents of Handicapped Children Association (ZPHCA)
Chipo Pikirayi one of the youth leaders at Chivi Stimulation Centre says she is forever indebted to the partners who have brought about the program that has seen girls living with disabilities making non reusable pads as one of the projects at the centre.
“We have since started a project of making our own sanitary wear so that we cater for all the children living with disabilities as we sometimes do not get money to buy from pads. At the moment we only make pads for us to share among us but with time we will be able to sell extras we make,” says Pikirayi.
Tracy Mabhiza a field officer said the project is aimed at eradicating period poverty by providing sanitary wear for children with disabilities.
“Our target is to provide reusable pads to 200 girls with disabilities who are beneficiaries of the Stimulation Centre and our target is to provide at least five pads for every girl,” said Mabhiza.
Media reports in Zimbabwe country have showed that cash strapped women and girls especially in rural areas have resorted to using tree leaves, newspapers, and pieces of cloth and in worst case scenarios cow dung.

ZRP urged to shun corruption

Perpetua Murungweni

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) June, 12 2023, were urged to shun corruption by all means necessary as it sends wrong message to the public.
This came out during a training programme for ZRP Victim Very Unity officers (VFU) held at Chevron Hotel, which was organized by Legal Resources Foundation (LRF) an organization that promotes human rights and access to justice.
Speaking during the training programme, Inspector Ngwarai Muchini who is a Provincial Training Officer urged fellow police officer to shun corruption saying corruption portrays a bad image of the force in the eyes of the public.
“As police officers we have to avoid corruption as it pollutes our work and sends a wrong message to the public. Corruption is an abuse to a public office. Corruption affects the relationship between officers and the public, especially those in VFU department because they are the ones who deal with victims, victims needs to be helped rather than be handled.
“Police officers need to stay away from corrupt activities so that they will be able to help the public and enforce the law effectively.
“There is also need for police officers to desist from corruption because it portrays lack good leadership and it affects the proper system of a country,” said Muchini.
Muchini also said corruption usually affects the public more as it widens the gap between the rich and the poor.
“Corruption usually affects the public because there will be a wide gap between the poor the rich, as the rich will use bribes to get away from the law, yet the poor will rot in prisons. Corruption also breeds insecurities within the public people will not be able report sensitive matters to the police and they will be deprived of their right to justice,” said Muchini.
Speaking during the same workshop, Inspector Edward Madhumira said the police should respect rights of the accused persons in order to reduce corruption.
“The police should be able to respect the rights of the accused people so as to reduce corruption, the public usually offers bribes as a way out because sometimes they will be mistreated and their rights will be violated,” said Madhumira.
Sergeant Xavieria Shawarira also urged VFU police officers to practice good customer care in dealing with both victims and the accused persons.
“Police officers should practice good customer service by showing empathy to the victims and avoid being rude because it creates a good relation between them and the victims. The police should not use negative language to victims and accused persons because it instills fear in victims and the accused persons,” said Shawarira.
LRF senior programs lawyer Sharon Moffat said the program was meant to help law enforcement to the VFU officers and allow police to know the latest law enforcements trends and how to address issues from the court.
“The program is meant to improve the quality and standards of law of enforcement especially the VFU officers and it helps the police to catch up with the latest trends in law enforcement how to handle and address issues from the courts that since we have invited National Prosecuting Council (NPC) and Judicial Service Commission (JSC). It is also an opportunity to discuss and find solutions to challenges that VFU officers are facing especially when it comes to the court systems,” said Moffat.
