A yellow Lamborghini for Mapombi

0

Are we sure this country has leaders who have people
at heart. I hear our beloved President ED wakes up early in the morning and is
in office by 07:30 and often times leaves office late but Mapombi wonders what
the man will be doing because life for an ordinary Zimbabwean is getting
difficult with each sunrise.
I heard that ED has appointed Mr Bin as Air Zimbabwe
board chair kkk. Somebody should have advised the President kuti AirZim is
under administration and there is no board there, it was dissolved long back. I
do not know who is advising the President these days but pana Bin Man mukuru
makabika mbodza. Tuku akaimba wani kuti Mapakura mbodza, kkk mbwezhu chairo.
What magic will Mr Bin he pull from his sleeve to revive an airline which is
now officially the world’s most unreliable.
Although I don’t like Chinamasa, I must accept that he
was a better Finance minister than chimuchinda chekutiunzira austerity measures
which are not yielding any results. Mutuvi should remove those glasses because
I believe they are giving him an optical illusion on what is happening.
I would like to advise Mutuvi that his austerity
measures are targeting the wrong people. Why should a teacher wekwaMuchekayaora
keep taking pain for the rich and powerful to enjoy while the country burns?
Ini Mapombi ndiri kutoshinga kudya mabanana akaora kuno kuChitima for our
President to hire those luxurious planes to go on his begging trips where he
comes empty handed.
I like ED, make no mistake about it, but he is
surrounded by criminals who want to see him fail. Imagine ini Mapombi ndouya
kwamuri ndakapfeka a nice tailor made suit and driving a yellow Lamborghini ndichitsvaga
rubatsiro? Would you take me seriously? Iyo imbori yaniko Lamborghini iya?
Hanzi ndeye mupfana weku Nembudziya. Ndikunzwei futi muchiwanzira Gokwe kkkk.
But varume I need you to balance me here real quickly,
kamuchinda kaya kanonzi keku Gokwe kakawanepi mari yekutenga that supercar and
I heard hapana kana duty rakabhadharwa. Zimra muriko here uko? Muri kutii nhai
vateresi?. A Lamborghini cost 200 000 real American dollars not bond notes is
allowed into the country duty free yet muri kunetsa madzimai anohodha mabhero
kuJoni.
Iye mufana Mayor (not Maboke) anomboita nezveiko
chinomupa mazimari akadaro? I heard Themba achipopota about the issue and I am
very proud of him. Hanzi hee rebate hee what what but ini Mapombi ndikanzi
ndawana mari kuhope ndikanotenga kaFunCargo kanoita US$2 000 unoona Zimra
ichitoda duty ipapo. This is a rotten system and we are cursed for real.
A country without forex but unoona munhu achikwanisa
kunotenga mota inodhura kudaro akaiwanepi forex yacho. Then Mayor comes out
bragging saying the car costs double the price being speculated and he told
Themba Parliament that he should not be jealous. And guess what, the opposition
MDC parliamentarians were all seated there like zombies. That Parliament is
truly a waste of time no wonder why a group of baboons is called a Parliament.
That Lamborghini ladies and gentlemen is one of a kind
and you can actually count them on the African continent. I wonder why the
transaction for that car was not affected by the so called sanctions. Varume
vanotinyepera ava. They are sucking the life blood out of us and we are living
by God’s grace and we are taking the pain for them. Enough with the austerity
measures because we cannot keep on sponsoring the executive’s lavish
lifestyles.
What is more painful is that people are now fighting
to join the system than to cleanse it. Maybe it has dawned to many that there
is no strategy in the opposition to remove Zanu PF from power and the
opposition has become so comfortable in remaining just that. The only hope is
that ED goes the same way he came but the man is clever, he is a calculative
man and I see him winning or rigging again in 2023 and he will get away with
it.
I am afraid to say anything bad about my beloved
President ED because many people who have taken a stand are either dead,
missing or sleeping with one eye open. Mapombi would like to send prayers to
one brave man Chiwenga (not VP). This man used the cross to challenge the
powerful but is now battling for his life right now. Zvakaoma zvekutaurisa izvo.
Mukanya vakanga vazviona pavakati Jojo siya zvenyika. Asi ka zvakanzi naMwari
shandisai matarenda enyu, zvino kana Talent akanyarara zvozotaurwa nani?
Akasashandisa rake tarenda anobatwa opotserwa kunze kuruma uko.
I hope both the Chiwengas will be well soon so that
they can continue with their work. We need them to keep challenging the man at
the top. But they must remember tThe crocodile rules the waters and you have to
tread carefully nekuti Zanu chiwororo. Rest in Power Morgan Tsvangirai but
pamakatisiira ndipapo, tichingori nayo Zanu.
By the way ndine urombo VaRugeje! Ko kwahi maita Seiko
nhai vedu? Ko inga makashanda wani maerection tikahwina. Nyarai zvenyu Cde,
tiri kudzora tsvimbo manje manje. Chine vene vacho chinhu ichi. Hachingaiti
chevanhu veGokwe voga zve. Kuti umwe Lamborghini, umwe commissariat. Ko isu
todhlepi wo isu?
Anyway my time is up. Regai ndidzokere kumusika kwangu
ndinokanga zvangu maputi angu. Iwo akati anonakei muchando muno kudai.
But before I go let me ask, how does Khaya Moyo
survive just like that? The man has more lives than a cat kkk. He announced the
ouster of Mnangagwa, the ouster of Mugabe, the return of Mnangagwa and still
announces the fate of many. Asi achaenda hake ndozviziva. Kana Mphoko akaenda
iye ndiye anosvikepi?
Mboko imboko!

GZU upholds Zinasu SRC election victory

Courage Dutiro
Great
Zimbabwe University has declared the Zimbabwe National Students Union (Zinasu)
as the victors of the recently-held Students Representative Council (SRC)
elections.
On
May 09, GZU held its first elections after the enactment of its new students’
constitution.
Zinasu
clinched seven strategic posts including the presidency and the secretary
general’s post but the outcome of the election was challenged by rival
groupings that sought their nullification, arguing that they were marred by
gross irregularities.
In
responding to the petition that was brought before the Electoral Supervisory
Committee (ESC) by the aggrieved camp, GZU Pro Vice Chancellor Andrew Chindanya
released a statement saying the petitioners had failed to provide credible
evidence for him to nullify the results.
“The petitioners have failed to place clear,
sufficient, direct and credible evidence for me to nullify the results, the
petitioners have not provided any proof.
“The
petitions seeking the setting aside of elections of the members of the
Executive Board of the Students’ Executive Council (EBSEC) held on May 9, 2019,
are dismissed. The elections of the members of the EBSEC are hereby upheld. The
winning candidates are hereby declared to have been declared duly elected,”
reads part of the statement.
It
has been established that the group of the aggrieved candidates had gone to an
extent of forging signatures of some candidates on the petition in a bid to
overturn the election results.
The
candidates whose signatures were forged, however, later distanced themselves
from the petition.
Takudzwa
Ngadziore, who won the presidency, said Zinasu was thankful to the university
for upholding the election results.
“We
want to thank the administration for allowing the voice of the students that
spoke on May 9 to be heard. We also want to thank them for upholding justice
and constitutionalism,” said Ngadziore.
The
May 9 election results marked the end of the Zimbabwe Congress of Students
Union (Zicosu)’s long dominance of the Students Representative Council (SRC) at
Great Zimbabwe University (GZU).

Masvingo police warn public on Fejafeja

Anymore Magawa
Many
people in Masvingo have complained against a gang of alleged fraudsters
promoting a street gambling game called Pick Luck Deep Show popularly known as
Fejafeja.
The
alleged gang’s activities are said to be duly registered in terms of the law
but the rules and regulations governing the game are reportedly being broken in
efforts to lure more players.
Many
people have fallen victim to the misleading gambling initiative and have lost
their money in the process.
Acting
Masvingo police spokesperson Kudakwashe Dehwa confirmed the game was legal,
adding that it must however be played in accordance with the prescribed terms.
“These
people have got a valid licence which allows them to do their gambling but
nothing out of the license’ rules and regulations is allowed for example
misleading information, forcing the public to participate and seizing people’
property.
“If
anyone has been harassed or has heard them playing obscene music, they must
come and report to the police since the game must be played by those who freely
want to participate.
“Those
who do not want to be involved in that gambling must avoid the scenes because
if some unlicenced people organise a game and you are found there, the police
will arrest everybody,” said Dehwa.
A
source who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed that the squad disregarding
the game’s rules by using misleading statements as a way of convincing people
to participate.
“These people are crooks and thieves because
they lure people using false statements. They make you believe you will
definitely win yet that is rarely the case and they don’t give you the prizes even
if you win.

TellZim Reporter
ZAKA – Care International
has launched a seed and food fair through its Enhancing Nutrition, Stepping Up
Resilience and Enterprise (Ensure) programme, the objective being to improve
nutrition in the district.
The launch was
held at Chimbwembwe High School in Ward 24 where farmers exhibited different
seeds and traditional foods.
Speaking at the
launch, Zaka District Development Coordinator (DDC) formerly known as District Administrator
(DA) Ndeya Nyede, who was the guest of honour, said the gathering was a
challenge to everyone to play a part in marketing and raising awareness on
locally-available nutritious foods
“We are here to
play our part in marketing and raising awareness of locally-available
nutritious foods and seeds so that we ensure food and nutrition security in
Zaka district,” said Nyede.
Zaka district
Ensure field supervisor, Fortune Tafirenyika said they were happy to be working
with various implementing partners to make the programme a success.
“We are grateful
and would like to thank our implementing partners who helped this event to be a
success. We will continue working with various stakeholders to make sure that
we achieve our goal,” said Tafirenyika.
The adjudicators
said they looked at whether the dishes prepared had the four basic nutrients
required namely carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and proteins. They also looked at
quantity, quality, branding and presantability as well as labelling of the
food.
Speaking at the
same occasion, incumbent Chief Bota Kamurai Zezai urged people to work with
Ensure to improve the availability of good food.
He said cattle
should only be allowed to roam freely when all people have finished harvesting
as freeing them prematurely was bad for food security.
“Don’t let
cattle roam unattended before others are done harvesting. Village heads must
also make sure that their people maintain roads so that when development comes,
it reaches your doorstep,” said Zezai
Dorcas Charare
and Moreblessing Charuka won the first and second prizes respectively and each
walked away with a groundnut sheller and a kitchen dish each among other
utensils.
Other winners walked
away with kitchen utensils and farming equipment like plough shares and dishes.

History revisited as Tshovani challenges Neromwe legitimacy

0

                                                Clemence Madzingo

Beatific Gumbwanda

CHIREDZI – Chief Tshovani, born Hlaisi Mundau, is challenging the resuscitation of the Neromwe chieftainship in High Court through his lawyers Majoko and Majoko Legal Practitioners.
The traditional leader has filed an urgent chamber application at the Bulawayo High Court (HC2964/17), citing Minister July Moyo, Chief Charumbira, Attorney General (AG) Prince Machaya, Senator Chief Chitanga and Chief Neromwe, born Clemence Madzingo as respondents.
The feud between the two chieftainships began when government decided to revive the Neromwe chieftainship which was destroyed by white settlers during the early years of colonial rule.
Tshovani, however, was not happy with the decision which he saw as an attack on his own chieftaincy since the revival of Neromwe meant his loss of vast territory.
Chief Serima of Gutu, Chief Nemauzhe of Chivi and Chief Maranda of Mwenezi adjudicated on the arguments for and against the revival of Neromwe in 2017 while the then Chiredzi District Administrator (DA) Ndeya Nyede gave guidelines.
Former Zvimba Councillor Madzingo was then selected inaugural chief of the revived Neromwe throne and was given custody of wards 17, 26, 28 and 29 while Chief Tshovani was left with only three wards.
What followed was a fraught relationship between the two chiefs and Tshovani is now seeking an order interdicting the respondents from sanctioning the official installation of Madzingo pending the ruling on his court application.
Chief Tshovani claims he was not consulted over the matter despite that he was to be affected by whatever decision would be made regarding the revival of Neromwe.
“By this application, I seek an order that the respondents be interdicted from treating or holding out forth respondent (Madzingo) as duly appointed traditional leader and Chief Neromwe pending the final determination of an application in case number HC2964/17 which is still pending. This application is made on the basis that the institution of traditional leadership is provided for in terms of the Zimbabwean constitution,” reads the affidavit.
TellZim News saw some written documents which claim that the Neromwe people of Ndoro tribe invaded Chiredzi when it was uninhabited.
“It is said that the original Chief Neromwe of the Ndoro tribe, originated in the Ndau area in Chipinge district. Neromwe and his brother, whose name we do not know, are said to have come into the Lowveld on a hunting venture. It is said they found the area uninhabited.
“They then decided to settle in the area, and with the passing of time, Neromwe established himself as its leader. This is how the Neromwe chieftainship came into being.
“Neromwe had many sons but only four succeeded him as chief; namely Chikodyo, Chireya, Chidzivire and Chidavarume. Chidabvarume was the last Chief Neromwe when the area became a European area by 1908,” reads the paper.
The Romwe chieftaincy was destroyed in about 1908 when its territory was declared a European area. This area lies between Chiredzi River to the East and Mutirikwi and Runde rivers to the South and West. Its original northern boundary was Musiwidzi River while modern-day Chiredzi town and Triangle sugar estates were part of it.

‘Western knowledge exhausted but useful’

Tinaani
Nyabereka
GWERU – Western knowledge is now exhausted but remains
useful for academic researches, a development which requires African
universities to produce new knowledge, a University of South Africa (Unisa)
lecturer has said.
Delivering
his address at the Joshua Nkomo Academic Lecture at Midlands State University
(MSU) last week, Professor Sabelo Gatsheni Ndlovu said the problem with the university
in Africa could be found in Eurocentricism as people tend to conform to the global
geography of knowledge.
“We
need to do away with gathering data and taking it to the Western side for processing
into theories. We need to focus on producing knowledge in the circles of the
living as Africans.
“Western
knowledge is exhausted but still useful. Why is it that we have the highest
literacy rate but we are not able to produce anything? To understand all this,
we must go back to the African consciousness as quickly as possible. We have
universities in Africa but are they universities of Africa. Let’s grow and link
our universities in the continent, then the region and afterwards, we go to
Europe,” Ndlovu, an acclaimed decolonial scholar.
Ndlovu
said Africa was still concentrated on the colonised aspect of universities
instead of ‘corporatized’ universities.
“More
talk is focused on colonised universities and not the corporatized ones. We
need to be known regional and internationally. We now have love for diplomas,
degrees rather than knowledge because focus has shifted to certificates and
graduating. It is only knowledge which can drive us as a nation not
certificates. Shifting from education 3.0 to 5.0 is a noble move and we need to
put value to it,” he said.
The
Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Professor Amon Murwira said the
university in Africa was supposed to give solutions to the challenges in Africa.
“The
legacy of Dr Nkomo can only be liberated by liberated minds. Let’s create an
environment where things develop from our heritage, let’s move from the
colonial approach to having the degree in the head. That is the idea,” said
Murwira.

Gutu RDC to construct sports stadium

Precila Takavirakare
MPANDAWANA –
Gutu Rural District Council (RDC) has said it will build a sports stadium at
Makombo grounds in Ward 34, Gutu Central, beginning this month.
This
came up after the council received $76 000 devolution disbursement from
the national budget.
Council
says it has budgeted the money for ground-levelling, security wall-erection,
building of changing rooms and toilets, drilling a borehole and installation of
water tanks.
Gutu
RDC Chief Excutive Officer (CEO) Alexander Mutembwa said council expected to
start doing the work as soon as possible.
“The
issue of building a sports stadium in the district has always been in our plans
and this time we decided to use the money we got for that purpose. We expect to
start working on the project as soon as possible because we have already
received the money so nothing can stop the progress,” said Mutembwa.
He
also said that they chose to invest in a stadium since there were no other
notable sports recreational facilities in the sprawling town of Mpandawana and
the district as a whole.
“We do not have recreational facilities in the
district so people want a place where they can practice different sporting
disciplines,” said Mutembwa.
He
also said a stadium would also provide an important revenue stream for the town
which is struggling to maintain optimum service delivery due to high defaults
in the payment of rates leading to a depressed revenue base.

A
12-year-old Helen McGhie Primary School pupil recently impressed at the
Ambassador’s Tennis Tournament held in at Old Harrarians Sports Club in Harare
by putting up a polished performance.
Tinotenda
Chipfakacha finished on the second spot in the girls Under 12s category after
losing to Harare-based tennis star Tendai Makunike in the grand finale.
On
her course to the final, Chipfakacha had a bye in the first match and outclassed
16 other competitors including the likes of top ranked player Ines Bescond to
reach the semis.
Chipfakacha
played tournament favourite Chanelle Zhuwakani in the semifinals in an
intriguing encounter which she won to proceed to the final match of the
tournament.
In
the finals, she lost to Makunike to settle for the tournament’s silver medal.
Speaking
to TellZim News, Chipfakacha’s coach, Goodwill Samson applauded her top notch
performance and said the young star was surely going to shine in upcoming
competitions.
“Tinotenda
is a great player, she lost in the finals but it was a great achievement. She
really played well throughout the tournament, she managed to knockout 16 girls
and her future looks so bright. This is just but the beginning,” said Samson.
Chipfakacha
has produced a streak of good results, winning some silverware in every
competition in the last four matches in which she took part.
She
participated in the Bulawayo Open and Tarryn Desouza Open where she won Bronze
in both competitions.
In
the Mantas Open, she bagged Silver and went on to play in the Manicaland Open
where she won gold in the doubles category.
Helen
McGhie has been a hub of producing tennis stars with the likes of Edina Mhango
representing the country at a regional competition last year.
The
province has also produced some of the finest young talents including Tanatsiwa
Tanyongana who represented the country at the Confederation of Schools Sport
Associations of Southern Africa
(Cossasa) games in Namibia last year.

Human skeleton found at popular market

Human
remains were recently unearthed in the bushy areas of Chitima market just a few
days after the lifeless body of Josiah Rimayi a taxi driver was found at the
bushy area near Masvingo Teachers College.
Masvingo
provincial police spokesperson Chief Inspector Charity Mazula confirmed that a
human body in the most advanced stage of decomposition was found near a sewage
tank at the market.
“I
can confirm that a human skeleton was found in the bushy areas of Chitima along
Mucheke River and we are calling upon members of the public with missing relatives
to come and identify the clothes that were found at the scene,” said Mazula.
The
first person to see the remains was Arigary Madhavu (44) who was using a
pathway from Mucheke high density suburbs to town by foot on Wednesday morning.
Found
at the scene were a green T/shirt, leopard spotted bra, red cap and khaki cargo
shorts which probably belonged to the dead person.
Reports
say the posture of the skeleton suggested it could have been a woman who was
raped first before she was murdered.
People
who work at Chitima market say the place is naturally smelly so they did not
suspect that there might be a human body decomposing close by.

Chiredzi businessman fails to pay $5, points gun at typist

Beatific Gumbwanda

CHIREDZI

Chiredzi businessman and Kwese satellite dish installer, Joel Chidhindo last
week failed to pay $5 for typing services rendered to him and went on to point
his pistol at the typist, TellZim News has learnt.
The incident happened at Pelagias
Complex where Boers Muchongwe typed some documents for Chidhindo and charged
him $5 which he however failed to pay, leading to the incident.
TellZim News learnt that the gun-wielding
Chidhindo was granted a firearm license in 2008 and was previously warned by
the police for pulling out the firearm at Hippo Valley Country Club.
This time around, Chidhindo allegedly
pulled his gun because Muchongwe had demanded that he pay in full for the
typing work done.
When Chidhindo seemed not ready
to pay the amount in full as is always his habit, Muchongwe jokingly mocked his
‘fat’ tummy but this angered Chidhondo who then pulled his gun and pointed it
at the victim.
Thinking Chidhindo was bluffing, Muchongwe
warned Chidhidho against playing with ‘toy guns’ in public, and Chidhindo then pulled
off the pistol’s magazine and showed Muchongwe live bullets.
When contacted for comment, a
shaken Muchongwe said he was still frightened as the incident was his first to
have a gun pointed at him.
“He threatened to shoot me after
refusing to pay for my services. I had charged him RTGS$5 but he complained
that it was too much. That is how he always acts when his work has been done,”
said Muchongwe, who said he was yet to report the case to the police.
Efforts to get a comment from
Chindindo were fruitless as he constantly dropped the calls when he learnt that
a newspaper was seeking to hear his side of the story.
