G and N Mission Schools, a matter of success over progress

MWENEZI – G and N Secondary
will soon commission newly-built boarding facilities that will put the
privately-owned mission school among the best in Masvingo province.
G
and N Mission Secondary School, located at Rutenga growth point, has made
impressive strides of self-improvement since it was officially opened back in
2011.
The
school has found favour among parents and prospective pupils in the province
and beyond owing not only to its proximity to a main road – the Harare to
Beitbridge highway -but to its remarkable record as a place where minds are
nurtured.
With
fresh-looking classroom blocks and other learning facilities, it is hard not to
notice the school’s imposing presence in a place where no other educational investment
of that magnitude can be found.
G
and N school head, Blessed Chirove said the mission school had succeeded due to
its uncompromising work ethic premised in the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church
doctrine.
“It
is upon that foundation that we have built and sustained a school which is
famed not only for its excellent facilities but for its high grade academic
culture too. We are guided by a strong desire to mould young minds and lay the
foundation for highly rewarding careers for the children who pass through our
hands.
“We
have added state-of-the-art boarding facilities as part of our consistent
commitment to the improvement of the learning environment. We welcome the first
batch of children who will make use of these comfortable facilities,” said
Chirove.
She
said the school will soon upgrade to ‘A’ level so that pupils who complete
their ‘O’ levels will be able continue with their education at a familiar
environment.
Construction
of ‘A’ level classroom blocks will be completed early next year while a
spacious room has already been spared for use as a laboratory.
Outside
of the classroom, pupils can enjoy overseas trips that the school regularly
organises for research purposes and as a way of giving children first-hand
exposure to the global village.
In
Mwenezi district, G and N Mission Schools also run three primary schools while
G and N Nursery School is located in Masvingo Urban.
