The heinous incident happened at Mutemarongo Tuck shop under Chief Nemangwe in Gokwe South.
Midlands Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko called upon members of the public to settle disputes amicably.
“ZRP confirm the incident which happened in Gokwe where a man was killed in a row over undelivered parcel. Police attended the scene leading to the arrest of the suspect who was remanded in custody pending trial.
“We appeal to members of the public to resolve disputes amicably,” said Mahoko
Circumstances are that the suspect Tinashe Katsikadova (17) and the now deceased Alfred Kamambo (24), both from Mutemarongo village used to do gold panning in Battlefields, Kadoma.
Sometime back, Kamambo sent Katsikadova with a cellphone and some money to give to his wife. The suspect allegedly did not deliver the parcel.
On the fateful day, Kamambo confronted Katsikadova at Mutemarongo Tuck-shop asking him why he did not deliver the phone and cash to his wife.
Katsikadova’s response did not go well with Kamambo which led to a fight. Katsikadova ran away and later came back armed with a catapult. The fight resumed and during the scuffle Kamambo produced an okapi knife intending to stab Katsikadova
Katsikadova then overpowered Kamambo, disarmed him of his knife and stabbed him on the chest, shoulder and left ribs.
Kamambo fell down and died on the spot.
