Masvingo missing man (41) found dead

A Masvingo (41) man who has been missing since January 8, 2025 was found dead in Longlands Farm in the outskirts of Masvingo on January 19.

Amon Machingambi was last seen on January 8, 2025 at around 2000hours sitting in a commuter omnibus at Aphiri Car Park, Mucheke in Masvingo taking refuge during heavy rains.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police in Masvingo then issued a public statement saying those with information of Machingambi should notify the Police.

Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the discovery of Machingambi’s body and said investigations were underway to establish the cause of death.

“I confirm the death of Machingambi who has been missing since January 8, 2025. His body was found in a decomposition state in Longlands Farm on January 19 and investigations are underway,” said Dhewa.

Machingambi was laid to rest on January 21, 2025.
